WWF: 4,259 Brian Pillman (889) Kevin Nash (865) Scott Steiner (853) Chris Jericho (828) Bret Hart (824)

As you can see, Hogan, Sting and Savage are murdering the WWF....interestingly enough despite being the number one Franchise Player for the WWF, and now the number one Franchise Player for WCW (despite not officially debuting yet he is signed) Shawn Michaels has never made it onto the national battle list, and Steve Austin (number two Franchise Player and number one babyface) has never made it either.

Yeah that did it, cheated a little bit and used the editor to change Bret from a Technician to a Regular Wrestler, he's now Auto Pushing to Main Event

Do you know I've not actually been following WCW's importance, but when I went to see what the National Battle score was I realised that the National Battle was now only actually taking place in the USA and WCW were no longer eligible to compete in Canada, where as they were a few months back, so I'm assuming they have been losing importance too.....although after checking, both the Wrestling Industry and the Economy are falling so I assume that has something to do with it.

That Hall injury has really done him no favours either, by the time he's fully healed he will have been "working through an injury" for around 13 months....add that to his time decline and it's meant nowhere near the push he could have got.

Extreme Championship Wrestling are a Regional Sized Company who are based in the Tri-State region of America. They are financially comfortable and have one TV show on the air.

A solid company, ECW are ranked #14 (out of 38) in the world in the terms of popularity, and are the fifteenth richest company overall

ECW Champion: Shane Douglas (defeated The Sandman: Week 1, March 97)
ECW Television Champion: Perry Saturn (defeated Taz: Week 3, June 97)
ECW Tag Team Champions: The Eliminators (defeated 911 & The Blue Meanie: Week 1, June 97....and haven't defended them once in three months)

ECW: The Doctor is in
Week 1, August 97
Show Grade (C)

-Shane Douglas defeated Mustapha Saed to retain the ECW Championship- (C)
-Terry Funk defeated The Sandman- (B-)
-Perry Saturn defeated Super Nova to retain the ECW Television Championship- (C)
-Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten & Stevie Richards defeated 911, The Blue Meanie & Mikey Whipwreck- (D+)
-John Kronus defeated Dances with Dudley- (D-)
-Steve Corino defeated Chubby Dudley- (D-)

ECW: Hardcore TV
Week 2, August 97
Show Grade (C)

-Axl Rotten defeated Mike Barton (Bart Gunn)- (C)
-The Sandman & Shane Douglas defeated The Gangsta's- (B-)
*ANGLE: Backstage segment with Beulah McGillicutty and The Sandman* (C-)
-Perry Saturn defeated Mikey Whipwreck to retain the ECW Television Championship- (C+)
*ANGLE: Confrontation involving Shane Douglas and Terry Funk* (C+)

ECW: Hardcore TV
Week 3, August 97
Show Grade (C+)

-Justin Credible defeated Jerry Lynn- (B)
-New Jack defeated Shane Douglas- (B-)
-Taz defeated The Blue Meanie- (D)

ECW: Hardcore TV
Week 4, August 97
Show Grade (C+)

-The Gangsta's defeated Mike Barton (Bart Gunn) & The Sandman- (B)
-Shane Douglas defeated Terry Funk- (B-)
*ANGLE: Brawl involving The Sandman, Terry Funk & New Jack* (C+)

ECW: Hardcore TV
Week 1, September 97
Show Grade (C)

-Terry Funk defeated Tommy Dreamer- (B)
-Shane Douglas & Jerry Lynn defeated Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten- (B-)
*ANGLE: Brawl involving Shane Douglas, Terry Funk & New Jack* (C)
-The Sandman defeated Tony Stetson- (C)

And the current state of ECW for I believe it was Curtman....as you may (or may not) have noticed I've entered the WWF into a working relationship with them, mainly to give the guys that I'm not currently using something to do instead of sending them to developmental (where they would p!ss and moan anyway) Bart Gunn is there, Justin Credible, Jerry Lynn and a few others I can't remember....Nelson (Mabel) Knight I think....and the Dudley Boys (Bubba & D-Von, not Chubby and Dances) who I signed to developmental around the same time as Edge & Christian but started getting sh!tty about being stuck down there so I had to recall them. I thought mid 97 was too early to debut them in the WWF though so back on loan to ECW they go.....although with the exception of Bart Gunn, I have tried to keep the loan-ee's somewhat ECW-esq....even Nelson is someone I believe Paul E would have snapped up in an instant, he's certainly better than 911 anyway.....

....to be fair, if anything it's a huge bonus for ECW to have the WWF guys, because they're in most all of the highest rated matches......

.....and ECW's popularity is dipping in all but the Tri-State (excuse the poor picture quality, I just snapped it on my iPad quickly) so it may even benefit them as well as me in the long run.

Comments: Very Split on this, even to the point that I may change it. But, since it would make sense for the next contender to be crowned here, I'm going with the Titans here, with Sting becoming the next contender eventually.

Team WCW (Lex Luger, The Giant, Curt Hennig, Dallas Page & Chris Benoit vs. The Titans of Wrestling (Hollywood Hogan, Randy Savage, The Warrior, Jean Paul Levesque & Buff Bagwell)
Comments: It's Russo, so the Titans win, then out comes the 'Rough Diamond' Shawn Michaels () because it takes a Titan to beat the Titans, or something like that...

WCW United States Championship Match
Eddie Guerrero (c) vs. Rikishi Fatu
Comments: Not tonight, 'kishi

WCW Tag Team Championship Match
The Road Warriors (c) vs. Mike Awesome & Gideon Cain
Comments: The Roadys only just won the belts, so there won't be a switch here... Wait, why am I trying to apply logic to Russo's WCW?

The Nasty Boys vs. Adam Copeland & Christian Cage
Comments: A rare match where I considered picking the Nasty Boys! But C&C need to show they can hang with the Titans, and picking off Knobs & Sags seems like the minimum entry-level requirements for that.

Jeff Hardy vs. Mortis
Comments: This is a coin toss. I'm assuming Mortis is more likely to get a cheap win then take a cheap loss, but I'm certain it's not going to be clean either way.

Rick Martel vs. Lance Storm
Comments: For Storm to have any legitimacy he needs to win this match

Bill Goldberg & ???
vs. The Amazing French Canadians
Comments: In this alternative universe, Goldberg plucks Robbie Rage from obscurity to get his moment in the sun.

WCW Television Championship Match
Lord Steven Regal (c) vs. Fit Finlay
Comments: Never back against a Lord... although, looking back through the last several pages, is this Finlay's debut? There's a definite story in the tough as nails, common as muck Irishman dethroning Regal.

Titans - Even with Buff on the team and JPL looking like he could turn on them at any minute, I just can't believe in a team featuring Hogan, Savage, and Warrior losing.
Rikishi - Eddie has been a very strong champ, but Rikishi came over from the WWF, and under TNA logic that means he should be winning gold from the "home crew".
Road Warriors - Cain likely isn't over enough to be on the winning side here, and you probably aren't looking to piss off the Warriors in WCW too, right?
C&C - Nastys are Saturday Night fodder by now.
Jeff Hardy
Lance Storm

Week 2, September 1997
Fargo Dome (Fargo, North Dakota)
ATT: 25,000
PPV BUY: 1.69
Announce Team: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay

Quote:

It's Sunday night.....it's WCW....it's Pay Per View.....it's time for the fifth annual Fall Brawl....and with it comes a tradition that dates back ten years now.....because when the blood gets so bad that normal match won't cut it, it's time to go to War in the Match Behond.....it's time....for War Games.....

......we have the usual opening hype video highlighting the events that have gotten us here....and while the video certainly focuses on the war between World Championship Wrestling and the Titans of Wrestling, it also highlights the fact that Team WCW are NOT going into this match as a unified group, but rather five men all looking to be the garner the victory.....because the man to gain the victory not only wins the match AND the bragging rights, but he also becomes the number one contender to Hollywood Hogan and the WCW Championship....a prize that ALL five members of Team WCW wants......

.....in the last two months we've had our commentary team clad out like the cast of Baywatch's drunk uncles (at Bash at the Beach) and rejects from the village people (at Road Wild).....well tonight the gimmick for the evening is all out War, so obviously they are all dressed in camouflage......

.....only joking.....they're dressed in their usual attire for a change.....but don't pretend like you'd have been surprised....

......our announce team this evening are the ever present Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and as our highlight package finishes we go straight to them, where they once again reiterate the current state of flux in Team WCW.....a fact that Tony Schiavone is horrified by, while Bobby Heenan states that the Titans of Wrestling are unified by one common goal, while WCW is going to have five men fighting for a singular goal, becoming the number one contender to Hollywood Hogan's WCW Championship.....Heenan says that while Eric Bischoff probably believed that he was offering a little bit of added incentive to ensure Team WCW's victory when he made that stipulation, all he's actually done is inadvertently added dissension to the ranks, and potentially handed the Titans the keys to victory.....and speaking of the Titans of Wrestling, they're in action right now....

Rating: N/A

Quote:

VS.

....because we're opening up the show with old vs. new.....Titan members that is.....although the same could certainly be said about the ages of the two teams here too....as the fresh newcomers Adam Copeland and Christian Cage face off against the (let's call them) grizzled veterans in the Nasty Boys.....

.....just four weeks ago Jerry Saggs and Brian Knobbs were proud shirt wearing members of the Titans of Wrestling, but a slew of failed attempts to capture the WCW Tag Team Championships from the Road Warriors lead to Vince Russo utilising his (ahem) Titan Sport's contacts, enlisting some new blood into the group and unceremoniously dumping the former WWF and WCW Tag Team Champions in the most brutal of fashions that left both Knobbs and Saggs bloodied and battered. Tonight the Nasty Boys will be looking for revenge, but that might be easier said than done....

.....because Copeland and Cage aren't out here alone....they have the Enforcer of the Titans, Ray Traylor out with them, and as the only three Titan men NOT in the War Games match, the pressure is on them here to put on a good display, because victory here will certainly give the villainous group the momentum ahead of tonight's main event.....

.....we are starting the show off in ring number one (with the announcers informing us that we will be using alternate rings for each match throughout the night, ensuring that both rings will have received the same amount of wear and tear by the time War Games rolls around) and the Nasty's start out strong, sending Copeland and Cage bailing to the outside within the space of the first 90 seconds of the match.....Tenay remarks that Knobbs and Saggs will be looking to prove a point here after being branded losers by Vince Russo, and if the first five minutes of this match are anything to go by, they are certainly fired up.....

.....Copeland and Cage DO manage to gain control of this, but only with the help of Traylor, who pulls the top rope down on a 'running the ropes' sequence, leaving Jerry Saggs to tumble over the top and down to the outside, where Christian sends him crashing into the ring steps, and if there was every any doubt that these two were nothing more than a pair of obnoxious Canadians, they are quickly put to rest as Copeland and Cage begin to (rather obnoxiously still) take Saggs apart.....

.....even the announcers have to reluctantly admit that Cage and Copeland are getting the best of this one, although as Christian distracts the official so that his partner can choke Saggs with the tag rope, he does point out that they are using all manner of underhand tactics to do so......until it backfires that is, and the two (former Suicide) Blondes collide, giving Saggs the opportunity to make the tag to his partner....

.....babyface isn't a position the Nasty Boys often find themselves in, so seeing Knobbs clean house on two Titan members is I'm sure not a sight many people were expecting to see a month ago.....but after getting bloodied and humiliated by Copeland and Cage, Knobbs is certainly fired up....and as soon as his partner has recovered enough to rejoin the action, they actually look the favourites to pick up the victory here, helped by the fact that their opponents are desperately trying to escape the onslaught like a pair of cowardly heels.....problem is, Copeland and Cage aren't the only ones at ringside, and they don't call Ray Traylor the Enforcer for nothing.....so it comes as no real surprise to see him slide his trusty nightstick into the ring, before hopping up onto the apron to distract the official away from the fact that Adam Copeland absolutely cracks Knobbs in the back of the head with it.....the pair quickly toss Saggs from the ring, before Christian drags Knobbs back to his feet, only to plant him straight back into the mat with the Downward Spiral for the one, the two, the three.....and the first Pay Per View victory for Adamn Copeland and Christian Cage.

Winner(s): Adam Copeland & Christian Cage
Rating: B+

Quote:

The Titans celebrate their victory before making their way back up the aisle, where Mean Gene is waiting...he asks the trio how they can be proud of winning when they have to stoop to those kinds of tactics to do so? Traylor isn't in the mood for Gene's crap however, telling him that the last time he checked, this was a war.....

".....and there ain't no rules in war Okerlund....."

....Gene says there may be no rules in war, but there most certainly ARE rules in a wrestling contest, and they just broke about fifty of them in one match.....Copeland and Cage start rubbing away mock tears, with Copeland telling Gene that the only thing they are going to break....

".....is the record for most consecutive wins over Hawk and Animal.....you know we've totally beat them before right?...."

".....no, I did not....."

"......well we did, so put that on your odious hotline because it was freaking awesome....in fact, me and Christian, we beat them up so bad that they never recovered....they packed their face paints and their totally heinous zubaz stretchy pants, and ran away from Titan as fast as their musclebound calves would take them.......problem was, Titan followed them......"

.....Christian takes over, telling Gene that as soon as those goofy looking monkeys put the gold on the line, him and Adam are going to be there to take them....

....Gene points out that the Road Warriors might not even HAVE the WCW Tag Team Titles by the end of the evening.....after all, they're facing the impressive pairing of Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain tonight, but Christian shakes his head, telling Gene that no, no, no, that won't do at all.....sure, they COULD beat Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain no questions asked, but it's Hawk and Animal that they want to beat for those titles, so they can rub it in the Nasty Boys stupid faces......

......Ray Traylor rounds the brief promo up....telling Gene that the Titan's want the belts off the Road Warriors......

"....even if we have to make sure that they retain those Titles.....tonight......"

Rating: B

VS.

If our last match was a battle of old vs. new, then you could almost say the same for our next bout.....which see's another veteran of the ring, Rick Martel, facing off against another newcomer Lance Storm, who at the age of 28, was only four years old when Rick Martel made his wrestling debut......which is exactly why Lance Storm believes that it's time for the former Model to hang up his boots once and for all, claiming that not only is he embarrassing both himself AND the wrestling business.....but he's embarrassing Canada too, and Storm simply can't accept with that

.....Martel may not exactly be in his prime, but an embarrassment? Really? I think it's safe to say that most would wholeheartedly disagree with that....Martel has picked right back up where he left off in late 1995, and after great showings against current Television Champion, Steven Regal, arguably a bad run of circumstances (interference's, time limits expiring etc) are the only reason he's not out here this evening with that title belt around his waist....

....this match itself was decent (if not spectacular) with both men putting on a good showing....and considering the fact that Storm claims his opponent here tonight is an embarrassment, it was certainly an even enough contest, with both men getting a good portion of offence in, with submission clearly being the name of the game here....Martel utilises the Boston Crab to pick up his victories, while Lance Storm favours the less traditional Single Leg version, or Canadian Maple Leaf as he calls it, so each man does what he can to wear his opponent down enough to lock on their hold....

......Martel IS able to partially catch his opponent in his signature hold first, but Storm is close enough to the ropes to force a break (and frankly looks relieved to have escaped there) meaning the match continues....but in the end however, despite his best efforts, Martel isn't able to catch Storm again, while the same can't be said for the so called "Pride of Canada".....because Lance Storm DOES manage to counter a dropkick attempt into the Maple Leaf....and right there in the middle of the ring Rick Martel has little course of action left, other than to concede victory and hand Lance Storm a (surprisingly) clean win on his Pay Per View debut.

Winner: Lance Storm
Rating: B-

Quote:

No one is ever going to accuse Lance Storm of being the greatest talker in the business, but if you keep him short and sweet he can certainly get his point across...and as the defeated Rick Martel makes his way to the back (looking like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders) Storm grabs a microphone mocking him the whole way.....

.....he tells Martel that he should have listened to him in the first place....hung up his wrestling boots.....and gone back to Canada to enjoy his last few days in peace.....because unlike America, Canadians still know how to treat their senior citizens......

....Storm says that it's HIS time now.....and here in WCW, where "wrestling" isn't just a dirty word, a technical athlete like himself shall flourish, because the Age of Excellence has begun.

Rating: C- (yeah, Lance really needs either a mouthpiece or to rapidly improve on the mic)

VS.

His Lordship, Steven Regal is a man known for his mat based, methodical, technically based matches.....and it's a style of match that he does well......

.....this was NOT that style of match....

....why?.....because his opponent is the Belfast Bruiser, or Fit Finlay as he is going by now....he's traded the mullet and porn star 'tache for a blonde flat top, but it certainly hasn't changed the fact that the Irish Lad loves a good scrap....

....there has been absolutely no build for this match, but the commentators do a fantastic job of recapping the bad blood between these two that dates back to the early 90's when they were both still working the UK scene, with Bobby remarking that the English and the Irish have been feuding a lot longer than that, dating back to the early 1900's "when George V introduced the potato tax that lead to the Irish war of Independence".....Schiavone says that's not true at all, but we may well see a war tonight.....

......this wasn't pretty, but it sure was stiff....these two men absolutely beat the sh!t out of each other in a battle that left Finlay with a busted lip (courtesy of a patented Regal backhanded slap) and his Lordship with a bloody nose (thanks to a particularly stiff Finlay right hand)....they punched, kicked, scratched, clawed and head butted their way through a match that tested the official's patience on numerous occasions......

......and he was even less happy when the Blue Bloods, The Duke Douglas Williams and Earl Robert Eaton made their way out.....Regal was absolutely delighted however.....because as the referee turned his attention to the men on he outside, his Lordship displayed some very un-regal like behaviour, pulling a set of brass knuckles from out of his tights and crashing them into the temple of Finlay....and three seconds later, this war was over......for now.

As Eaton and Williams help Regal to the back, Mean Gene makes his way out onto the stage once again.....he shills the hotline obviously, before bringing out his next guests, two former WCW Champions, Big Van Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow....

....Gene says that these two big men picked up an impressive victory last Monday night on Nitro, defeating the Faces of Fear.....but it wasn't without controversy, as Kevin Sullivan of all people provided them with the assist.....

.....Bigelow cuts Gene off there (while Vader looks menacing in the background)....he says that first things first, they didn't want, need OR ask for Kevin Sullivan to stick his nose into the match....

".....take a look at us Gene, do we look like a couple of guys that need help to do ANYTHING? Kevin Sullivan did what he did off his own back, but we had the Faces of Fear under control anyway.....did we take advantage of the fact that Sullivan did what he did? Sure.....but every win matter now.....you ain't winning matches then you ain't getting title shots, and me and Vader, we've been without gold for too long....."

.....Bigelow says that since the Titans of Wrestling came on the scene, him and Vader have been swept under the carpet and forgotten about.....he says that you have a pair of former World Champions standing right here, and not only are they NOT in the War Games match tonight, they're not even on the card.....Gene says that may well be true, but they're out here right now, and he wants them to use the time to tell the world exactly what it was that Sullivan said to them after the match on Monday?.......

.....before Bigelow can answer that however, The Faces of Fear make their way out with Jimmy Hart.....apparently they want to know exactly what it was Sullivan said too.....because the last time they checked, Kevin Sullivan and the Faces of Fear were supposed to be on the same team.....

.....Bigelow says that if Meng and the Barbarian want to know what Sullivan said so badly, they should just ask him......but if it's a fight they want, then they've definitely come to the right place, because he and Vader will happily kick their butts again......

.....obviously the Faces of Fear don't need challenging twice, and Mean Gene beats it as the four men begin brawling in the aisleway....none of these men might have a match, but it doesn't mean they're not seeing plenty of action as they pummel each other against the crowd barriers, continuing their battle from Nitro.....

.......which is when Kevin Sullivan comes walking slowly out from the back.....not that he actually does anything....he simply stands there watching the carnage unfold.....

......Hart is the first one to notice Sullivan's arrival, running over to his one time stable mate and demanding an explanation to his actions last week.....Sully just stands there laughing however (after all, what's Jimmy Hart going to do, the little runt) so Hart tries to get the attention of Meng and the Barbarian.....and it's safe to say that after having his face set on fire last week, Meng is certainly keen to have a little "chat" with Sullivan.....

......the Faces of Fear abandon their brawl with Vader and Bigelow and advance upon the still unmoving Sullivan at the top of the stage.....that was a huge mistake though....you don't just walk away from a fight with Vader and Bigelow and expect them to wave you goodbye....instead the pair each pick up a steel chair and charge at the retreating figures of Meng and the Barbarian (who's skulls might be thick, but their backs certainly aren't impervious to a blow or three from the steel folding device)......

......with the Faces of Fear both down, only now does Sullivan move....walking up to both Vader and Bigelow once more, leaning in close to each man, where he again whispers something into their ears.....this time however, the two behemoths don't look remotely confused by his words....in fact, as Sullivan grabs hold of a cowering Jimmy Hart, they actually look laser focused......Bigelow walks over to the production area of the set and clears a load of electronics from the top of a table, before dragging the wooden structure out into the open.....Sully tosses Jimmy Hart to Vader, who puts the scrawny manager into position for the Powerbomb.....

......Hart wriggles like a madman, pleading (for his life) and desperately trying to escape, but it does him no good.....because Vader effortlessly hoists him up and drives him straight through the wood and down to the concrete floor below.....

.......Jimmy Hart is broken (maybe permanently).....Meng is down.....the Barbarian is down.....and Kevin Sullivan is cackling like a madman as he, Vader and Bam Bam walk off as a cohesive unit.....I think it's safe to say that the Dungeon of Doom is deader than Hulkamania.

We air a promo package next while the wreckage is being removed from the aisleway (and Jimmy Hart is stretchered out) highlighting the build up towards our next match, which sees Jeff Hardy mainly on the receiving end of numerous beat downs from Mortis....the masked newcomer, who according to his manager and mouthpiece James Vandenberg, is on a mission to purify World Championship Wrestling.....and when the promo finishes, it's straight back down to ringside for the match itself.....

......Jeff Hardy has been welcomed with open arms by this WCW faithful....and while he may not have had the immediate success as a singles star that his brother up north has had, he's certainly only been a Swanton Bomb away from capturing gold on two occasions now....and had it not been for the fact that his attention has now turned to Mortis, it may well have been HIM challenging for the Television Title tonight instead of Finlay.....

......as for Mortis, I'm sure he's much happier under the green mask than he ever was under the yellow hard hat as a member of Men at Work....and he's certainly having more success (and lots more screen time) as the mute Monster of James Vandenberg.....

......this match actually fell a little flat, but that was down more to poor placement (and other mitigating circumstances) than anything else....they had no chance of following the previous angle (which rated far higher than I anticipated considering the people involved) and Morris's momentum is absolutely in the toilet following his run as one half of a jobber tag team under the name Chris Kanyon (even though 99.99% of this crowd would have no idea that was Kanyon under the hood, so this completely different and unknown characters momentum should really have reset to neutral with his gimmick change.....there's one for the suggestions post for you)....and then there was the finish of the match itself.....which saw Mortis once again utilise his Jester Skull cane......James Vandenberg hopped up onto the apron, kicking the weapon across the ring to his ward, just as Jeff Hardy comes flying off the top rope with what looks to be a cross body attempt.....

.....Mortis swings the cane like a baseball bat shot, crashing it against the skull of Hardy in mid-air......Hardy hits the mat like he's been taken out by a sniper, but he's not down for long.
....because Mortis drags him back to his feet and plants him into the mat and drives him back down to the canvas with the Flatliner, making the cover for the one, the two....and the three...your winner, Mortis.....

.....which by the way was another reason for the lower than expected grade....Jeff is definitely the bigger star of the two, but a) Mortis needs to sort this momentum out, and b) I know I've harped on about Jeff's age before, but he's 19....he can afford a few losses to lesser guys....so yeah, Mortis wins.

From there we go to a quick shot of Team WCW's locker room, where they SHOULD be talking strategy for tonight's War Games showdown with the Titans of Wrestling.....but what they ACTUALLY seem to be doing, is arguing about who should be the man to claim the victory and the number one contenders shot that comes with it.....Luger, Giant and Hennig seem to be the main instigators....Benoit is sat there brooding in silence with an intense look on his face, while Dallas Page is trying to build a sense of unity between the team....telling them that none of them wanted in on this match because of the title shot....they wanted in on this match because they want to put a steak in the heart of the Titans of Wrestling....Page says that while he wants that shot at Hogan as much as any of them (because let's face it, of everyone in this room, he's the only one to have never had a World Title opportunity) his main focus here tonight is for WCW to get the win.....period.....WHOEVER makes it happen.....

.......that does actually calm Luger and The Giant........briefly........until Hennig pipes up again that anyone who's not actively looking to become the WCW Champion, shouldn't be in WCW to begin with, and it all erupts again, leaving Benoit to continue brooding, while Page actually throws his arms up in frustration and storms out of the room, slamming the door closed behind him.....and all of this dissension is making Tony Schiavone very nervous.

VS.

It's time for our second title match of the evening, as Hawk and Animal put the WCW Tag Team Championships on the line against the pairing of Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain.....Missy's Men haven't been teaming for long, but have amassed quite a few impressive victories over not only Bam Bam Bigelow and Vader, but Bam Bam Bigelow, Vader AND the team of Lex Luger and the Giant in a Triple Threat Match....and if that impressive feat wasn't enough to garner Awesome and Cain a Championship opportunity, they made doubly sure they had the Champions attention, by viciously assaulting them backstage at Nitro.....

.....this match was never going to be pretty....a phrase I seem to be saying a lot just recently as the hosses keep coming out of the WCW woodwork....and the selling was always going to be at a minimum, although you can sort of overlook that when you consider the fact that while the Road Warriors be sold plenty of tickets over the years, they've yet to sell a move their entire career.....Mike Awesome spent a good portion of his career working in Japan, where the no sell is almost mandatory, and then there's Gideon Cain....greener than goose sh!t....although thanks to the mentorship of Robert Eaton, he IS improving at an acceptable pace....

......speaking of the Powerplant graduate, all the hype at the minute might be surrounding the undefeated streak of Bill Goldberg, but he's not the only one around here never to have lost a match, because Gideon Cain has won every single match he has competed in during his (admittedly, very short) career......and if he just wins one more, then he will become one half of the new Tag Team Champions.....

.....so as I said, the selling on this was poor, but the fans didn't seem to care as these four big dudes went at it....the Road Warriors don't need much of an excuse to fight, but the backstage assault by Cain and Awesome obviously lit a fire under them, and after spending the last two months feuding with the Nasty Boys and the rest of the Titans of Wrestling, Missy's men are a change of pace, two young, hungry competitors looking to make a name for themselves by taking on arguably the most decorated team in wrestling history, but as this match begins it's Hawk and Animal that explode out of the starting blocks answering every blow that Awesome and Cain can land with two of their own.....

.......of course Missy isn't just there to look pretty at ringside, and after spending a few years down in ECW, she's not afraid to get her hands dirty....or nails in this case.....nails that she digs into the eyes of Hawk after Awesome tosses the man unceremoniously to the outside.....and from there (with Hawk at their mercy), he and Cain take control of the match, and damn dear win it on a number of occasions....they use frequent double team moves, keeping the Road Warrior in their corner, and cheating at every given opportunity....Awesome even lays out Hawk with the running Awesome Bomb, and had Animal not made the save it would have all been over, because Hawk was done.....fortunately for him Animal has had enough....and after nailing Awesome with a kick to the back of the head (and sending Cain flying off the apron) he drags Hawk back to his own corner, exits the ring, and then tags himself in......

.....Heenan questions the legalities of that move, stating that Schiavone and Tenay were berating Cain and Awesome for their cheap tactics earlier, but Schiavone says that the challengers are simply getting a taste of their own medicine....

......Animal goes on a tear from there, taking on both Cain and Awesome while his partner recuperates, even picking up a near fall of his own with a huge power slam on Cain.....and this time it's Awesome that has to save the match for his team....which is about the time that Hawk gets back into the match, and all four men go at it.....at least until Awesome gets clotheslined over the top to the outside, and Animal hoists Gideon Cain up onto his shoulders.......looks like it's Doomsday Device time folks.....or it would have been, had Missy not hopped up onto the apron and hooked onto Hawks leg as he's standing on the top rope, stopping the bird of prey from flying and buying enough time for Awesome to recover......he rolls into the ring and kicks Animal's leg out from under him, sending Cain crashing down on top of him....then runs and leaps onto the second turnbuckle, sets up Hawk........and drives him hard to the mat with a big Superplex......and now all four men are down in the middle of the ring......

.....which is when the match goes to sh!t.....because the Titan's of Wrestling have obviously decided to make good on their earlier promise, as Adam Copeland, Christian Cage and The Enforcer Ray Traylor come running down the aisle....into the ring.....and with Champions and Challengers still down, proceed to begin stomping the crap out of all four men.....leaving the official little course of action other than to call for the bell and declare this match a no contest.

Not content with ensuring that the Road Warriors walk out of this match with the Titles (if not the win) still in their possession, the Titan Trio look to be out to make a statement as they go to work beating down these battle tired competitors.....Traylor has his ever present nightstick to hand which he uses to brutalise Awesome and Cain, while Copeland and Christian each slide to the outside where they collect a steel chair each.....

......they slide back into the ring just as Animal is pushing himself back up to his knees....position themselves either side of him....and as Schiavone screams for them not to do it, let fly with that double Con-chair-to right to the skull of the Road Warrior.....

......Animal is done....and Hawk knows it as he drags himself over and drapes his own body over his partner in an effort to shield him, but all that does is give the Titans another target as they rain chair shots down on Hawk, before pulling him up to a kneeling position......and taking him out with a second Con-chair-to......

......Hawk is down.....Animal is down.....Cain and Awesome are down.....and the Titans of Wrestling are standing tall.....

.....Traylor rolls to the outside where he collects the Tag Title Belts, handing them to Copeland and Cage and the three men stand arms raised over their broken victims, The Enforcer holding high his trusty nightstick, while C&C hoist the tag titles AND their steel chairs over head, before tossing the belts onto the motionless bodies of the Road Warriors and heading to the back.

It's back to back tag team matches now.....or is it? Because as Bill Goldberg makes his way out to face the Amazing French Canadians, he doesn't seem to have found a partner....although as Schiavone, Tenay, and even Bobby Heenan admit, this rookie monster might not even NEED a partner to win this match......the Canadians however disagree....telling Goldberg that they were crystal clear.....

".....this is a tag team match you big dummy....tag TEAM.....as in two against two.....it's right there in the contract.....and since YOU don't have a partner.....and since WE are dressed to compete, then I think the only thing the referee can do is ring that bell, declare the Amazing French Canadians the winners by forfeit.....and you can say goodbye to that undefeated streak eh?......."

.....Goldberg doesn't think he needs a partner, and tells the official as much....unfortunately the Canadians appear to have found a loop hole here, as the referee reluctantly informs him that he has until the count of ten to find a partner, or he will indeed have to award the match to the Canadians, marking this non-match as an official loss......

.....the commentators are not impressed with this, calling it a cowardly way to get a win, but the official does indeed begin to count......and gets all the way to eight.....

.....when Brad Armstrong's sweet music starts to play, and the man himself makes his way down the aisle....

.....Brad climbs into the ring, telling Goldberg that he'll be his partner....and while you'd think the Canadians would be annoyed that their master plan didn't work, they're not exactly upset to see Brad Armstrong out here either.....Goldberg reluctantly accepts, realising he has little choice unless he wants to lose by forfeit....and Jacques instantly attacks Armstrong as the official rings the bell....making him the legal man.....and meaning that Goldberg has to start this match on the apron.

The Amazing French Canadians might have had a Plan A.....but they clearly had a Plan B too....that plan being, don't let Goldberg get into the match to begin with....because that cheap shot on Armstrong gives them the instant advantage, and they do everything in their power to ensure that he doesn't make it over to his (highly frustrated) partner.....

.....Rougeau and Oulette might not have exactly set the WCW tag team ranks on fire, they ARE an experienced team, and they do know how to cut the ring in half, and Goldberg's undefeated streak looks to be in serious trouble here.....or it would have been had Armstrong not managed to sidestep a charging Oulette, who collides into Jacques, putting both Canadians down just long enough for Armstrong to make it to his corner and tag in the fresher than fresh Bill Goldberg.....

.....Goldberg hits the ring and absolutely tears into the Canadians, taking the fight to both men (the way he wanted to originally) and taking them apart in a matter of minutes, spearing Oulette so hard that he nearly comes out of his boots.....

.....he tosses Oulette to the floor, before turning and running through Jacques with another spear, before dragging him to his feet and lifting him high into the air with the Jackhammer.....before he drives Rougeau into the mat however he walk him around the ring, then (still holding the Canadian up with one arm) he tags in his surprised looking partner.....drives Jacques into the mat.....then stands back and lets Brad Armstrong make the cover for the one, the two, and the three.....and despite the Amazing French Canadians best efforts, Bill Goldberg's undefeated streak remains in tact.

From there we go backstage where Diamond Dallas Page can be seen talking to Kimberly....she's basically trying to reassure him that when that bell rings and they are all locked inside the double ring War Games cage, that everyone will get on the same page.....

".....they have to.....or none of you are going to walk out in one piece....."

.....Page says he hopes so, or the Titans will run roughshot over everyone.....and if that happens, someone is going to get hurt.....seriously hurt......Kimberly says that he's done everything he can to keep this team together.....so if it comes down to it, just make sure that HE'S not the one getting hurt......

".......it's a bit late for that Princess......"

......as if these three haven't done enough damage tonight.....it's Traylor, Copeland and Cage who come charging into shot, and begin to deliver a vicious three on one assault of Page.....

.....Kim is screaming for help, but there's no one arriving....and as Cage and Copeland drag Dallas to his feet (holding his arms back and leaving him wide open) Traylor takes that nightstick and proceeds to lay into the exposed ribs with shot after shot after shot after shot, that leaves Schiavone declaring that you can actually hear those ribs cracking one by one.....

.....with Dallas seriously hurt Traylor takes a few steps back, before charging forward and nailing Page right between the eyes with the nightstick......

.....security finally arrive on the scene, not that the Titan's care....because with Page down, clutching his ribs, and busted wide open, their job here is done.....and so is Diamond Dallas Page.

It's time for our penultimate match of the evening, and since the WCW Championship is NOT on the line in our main event, this is our final title match of the evening, as Eddie Guerrero puts the US Title on the line against the latest WCW newcomer, Rikishi Fatu.....

.....Rikishi won't be the first newcomer to the company that Guerrero has face, having already seen off the threat of Jeff Hardy, as well as WCW faithful's like Diamond Dallas Page and Legends such as "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, Eddie has faced, and beaten (even if they are mostly by dubious means) them all.....

.....I honestly expected better from this match, hence it's position on the card, where really it would have perhaps been better suited opening the show, because frankly it underperformed....it wasn't a terrible match by all means, but Guerrero and Rikishi just did NOT click at all, their timing was terrible, missed spots, botched moves.....just an awkward, awkward pairing....

.....It was an open match, both men got plenty of offence in but in the end Guerrero showed why he's the new "dirtiest player in the game" in the absence of Ric Flair, picking up somewhat of a fluke victory with BOTH his feet on the ropes for leverage.....Eddie Guerrero is still your US Champion....and it's safe to say that we WON'T be seeing this match again any time soon.

Eddie collects his Championship, and a microphone from ringside as Rikishi makes his way back up the ramp, arguing with the official the whole way that Guerrero cheated to win....unfortunately it falls on deaf ears, because there's no instant replays here in World Championship Wrestling.....the referees decision is final and unfortunately for Big 'Kish, Nick Patrick just didn't see it.....

.....the pair exit to the back as Guerrero addresses the crowd, he says that maybe people will start listening to him now holmes.....

"......I told you all, that the Guerrero's were the greatest and most successful family, in all of professional wrestling essè.....better than the Armstrongs.....better than the Funks.....and a hell of a lot better than those coconut chewing, grass skirt wearing savage Samoan's.....you want REAL wrestlers, you gotta go south of the border vato, not south of the Pacific....."

.....Eddie pats the gold belt that's draped over his shoulder, telling everyone to get used to this sight, because the way he sees it, this US Title ain't going anywhere....and especially not to some stinking Samoan's mud hut to get covered in fish guts and coconut juice.....so Rikishi Fatu and his so called Samoan Heritage, can kiss his Mexican butt.......

.....which is about the time that some unfamiliar music begins to play......

......and this man makes his way out onto the ramp.....

......to quite literally the loudest pop of the night....because they know exactly who this is......

......although he does look a bit different than the last time we saw him.....he's not dressed as a member of a group.....or a Nation.....in fact he's dressed like somewhat of a rockstar in an open chested silk leopard print shirt, designer sunglasses, black leather pants with one of the biggest bull head shaped belt buckles known to man.....and a microphone.....he has a microphone in his hand....

......he stops to soak in the cheers of the crowd, pushing his sun glasses down his nose for a better look at his adoring public as he raises one eyebrow in appreciation, waiting for the ovation to die down and goes to speak.......but Eddie Guerrero cuts him off......

"......Òrale Vato......I think you're in the wrong arena holmes.....New York is thataway essè............you know what I think.....I think......"

"........IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK........"

"........HEY!!......Who do you think you're talking to essè, if you don't......."

"......if YOU don't know your role....and shut your damn mouth....The Rock is gonna walk right to the back.....straight through this arena.....all the way down the street....he's gonna stop at Mrs. Riley's pet shop on the corner, and he's gonna find the meanest, maddest little Chihuahua he can find....The Rock is gonna buy a collar....he's gonna buy a leash.....he's gonna name that Chihuahua "Chico"......then he's gonna walk back up that street....straight past security and into this arena......he's gonna walk down this aisle.......and then he's gonna take Chico the Chihuahua.....turn him sideways........and shove him straight up your Mexican candy ass.......

.....The Rock hears you out here, shaking your maracas at all the names you've beat.....you beat Rikishi..........The Rock beat Rikishi too........you beat Jeff Hardy........The Rock beat Jeff Hardy too........you beat "Bullet" Bob Armstrong...........The Rock....well, The Rock doesn't beat up senior citizens, so he'll let you have that one.......but what you've NOT done....what you can not, will not, won't do......is beat THIS Samoan......"

......The Rock says that if there is one thing he's not, it's a hypocrite....he says he knows that he's not exactly been the best son of Samoa (nudge nudge, wink wink) he's not been the best son full stop.....but if there's one thing he knows it's family.....and the Rock has a huge family.....

".....in fact there's about twenty five thousand members of The Rock's very close immediate family right here tonight.....because the only family The Rock needs.......is the People......

.....and The Rock says......no, The Rock promises.....scrap that, The Rock guaran-damn-tees, that he could walk down this aisle....whip your candy ass so hard that the guacamole would be running out of your ears.....and take the People's United States Championship quicker than you can say La Cucaracha....."

......Eddie is far from happy with this latest development, telling The Rock that he's had about enough of people just walking in the door here and expecting a shot at Eddie Guerrero and the United States Championship.....he says that there's a laundry list of WCW stars that have been patiently waiting for their shot at glory around here.........what about your Bunkhouse Buck's?....what about your Fidel Sierra's?....your Disco Inferno's?.....

".....no Vato, you want a shot at the United States Title èsse, you're gonna have to get to the back of the line, because I'm done beating scrubs and rejects......but if you just want to get slapped about a little bit, then come on down and feel what it's like to get hit by a Guerrero....."

......The Rock has no problem with that, telling Eddie that he's gonna come down there and go through him faster than Granny Guerrero's chilli goes through his fat ass mama....and he tosses the microphone to one side before running down the aisle and sliding into the ring......

.....the empty ring by the time he gets there.....

.....because despite all his bravado, Eddie Guerrero has bailed.....and as The Rock stands to his feet the US Champion is halfway up the aisle, tapping the side of his head with his finger to tell everyone just how smart he is, before disappearing to the back, leaving the Rock wi no one to fight, but around twenty five thousand family members to pose for, as we go to a history video surrounding the history of the War Games match.

War Games

So it's about that time....it's time to go to war....and as we come back from that video package highlighting the history of the War Games match, we still have the ring crew putting the finishing touches on securing the cage around the double ring.....fortunately they still have plenty of time to get things finished, because as they go about their business in, around and under the ring, we have ten men to introduce.....although in a show of solidarity, the Titan Team all make their way down the aisle in unison.....and to say they look confident would be an understatement......and why wouldn't they be....because not only is Team WCW far from unified, one of their members looks to be seriously hurt, as Dallas Page makes his way out (along side a concerned looking Kimberly) with both his ribs AND skull heavily bandaged following the beating he took at the hands of Traylor, Copeland and Cage earlier in the evening.....

.....we have the mandatory coin toss, and it's the Titan's that win that too (just to add some more friction into Team WCW, meaning that Hogan and his crew will take the man advantage....and they're starting out the match here with Jean Paul Levesque.....

.....WCW on the other hand. Can't seem to decide WHO is going to start for them, because they all want into the match.....the only thing they CAN agree on is the fact that Page (being in the state he's in) should be saved for as late in the match as possible.....speaking of Page, he'd had enough of this bickering an hour ago, and as his team mates argue amongst them selves, he climbs into the cage, slams the door behind him......and this match is underway.......

VS.

.....so the first five minutes are underway, and it's Diamond Dallas Page facing off against Jean Paul Levesque....Page is out for revenge here for the beating he took earlier, but he is already hurt before the match even begins, and those taped up ribs are nothing more than a giant bullseye....a bullseye that Levesque attempts to zero in on from the moment the bell rings.....Dallas is working on pure adrenaline here however and manages to avoid any contact to the injured ribs, unfortunately adrenaline is only going to last for so long, because after Levesque catches Page's foot, DDP counters it into a discus clothesline that actually hurts him as much as it does his opponent....

.....Levesque is first to his feet and drops a series of knee drops to the ribs of Page that leave the man struggling for breath....Dallas is here to fight however, and as Levesque goes to drag him to his feet he nails the Titan man with a hard low blow, then sends him flying face first into the steel cage, before grating Levesque's face across the unforgiving steel.....before tossing Levesque over the top rope with such force that he clears both sets, landing in the second ring.....

.....Levesque is backing off now as Page advances on him, before delivering a good old fashioned thumb to the eye....he attempts to launch his opponent into the cage but Dallas reverses the momentum and it's Levesque that once again eats the steel, and this time after DDP grinds the Titan man into the mesh wall, Levesque comes away busted open as the blood flows freely from a gash to his forehead, and Page immediately pounces, peppering the open wound with right hands as time runs out in this first five minute period......

VS.

.....and Buff Bagwell hits the ring to make the save for the bloody (and quite frankly relieved) Jean Paul Levesque....he charges at DDP and hits him right in the ribs with a running knee, before tearing off the dressing from Dallas' head and driving him face first into the steel wall of the cage.....

.....Levesque joins him and soon both men are grinding Page's face into the steel mesh, and it's not long until that cut caused by Ray Traylor's nightstick earlier in the evening is reopened...and as the blood now flows from Page's face, the commentators (despite praising his gutsy display) question exactly how effective Dallas is going to be now for the remainder of this match.....fortunately we only have two minutes between periods now.....

VS.

.....and help is at hand for Page in the form of the Canadian Crippler, as Chris Benoit enters the fray next......and hits the ring like he's just made the hottest tag of his life lighting up both Bagwell and Levesque with stinging chops to the chest....the two Titans briefly overwhelm him, sending Benoit into the corner with a double Irish Whip, but Benoit hits the turnbuckles and immediately charges straight back out, dropping both the bloody Levesque AND Bagwell with a running Double Clothesline......that gave Page just enough of a breather that he's able to get back into the action as these four pair off, Levesque and Page in one ring, while Bagwell and Benoit go at it in the other ring.......

VS.

......as the period runs out......and the Macho Man hits the ring......Randy Savage is a dangerous man at the best of times, let alone in an environment of this nature, and as he nails Benoit in the back of the head with a double axhandle from the top rope, Team WCW once again find themselves outnumbered.....

.....this isn't the first time Chris Benoit has found himself locked inside a steel cage with a numbers disadvantage against the Titans of Wrestling however....the last time it was eight on one, this time it's only three on two.....much more manageable odds (even if one of those two are a bleeding mess with half a dozen cracked ribs).....and as Page and Levesque continue to brutalise each other, Benoit sends Bagwell crashing into the side of the cage as he turns his attention to Savage.....and considering it was DDP and the Crippler that Hollywood Hogan said didn't belong in the same ring as him, both men are putting on a strong showing here......

VS.

......and they get stronger still as Curt Hennig enters the match.....Hennig goes straight for Savage, dragging him away from Benoit and hitting a series of right hands that puts the Macho Man on his Macho Rear....from there Hennig positions Savage for a Catapult into the Turnbuckles, but changes his mind (and trajectory) mid move to send Savage catapulting into the wall of the cage......

.....Benoit is continuing to battle Bagwell, with the two men spilling through the middle ropes between the first and second ring, where Benoit proceeds to deliver a hard looking German Suplex right there onto the split aprons......

......while Levesque and Page continue to stain the mat red as they bleed all over ring number two.....Jean Paul launches Dallas ribs first into the turnbuckles, which leaves the man crying out in pain, before locking on an abdominal stretch (using the ropes for leverage) which is useful only for the fact that it further injures those ribs....because this match can't end until all five members of each team are in the ring.....which is probably fortunate.....because Page sis somehow able to power out of the hold into a hip toss to Diamond Cutter combination....and if pinfalls DID count, this would be all over........

VS.

......as the Warrior enters the match to make it four on three......a few months ago it's safe to say that the Warrior would have been flying into this ring like a man possessed....shaking ropes (and probably a few cage walls) and running through people with clotheslines.....this Warrior however is very different....as he calmly (almost indifferently) enters the ring.....where he walks straight over to Benoit and military presses him overhead, before losing him like a piece of garbage into the cage wall. Benoit lands on the outside of the ropes (pressed up against the cage wall) and the Warrior grabs him by the hair and drives the back of his head into the steel structure at least six times......

......Hennig breaks away from Savage to try and break up the assault, but a Warrior cuts him off with a stiff standing clothesline, before picking him up and tossing him over his shoulder (running powerslam style) launching Hennig into Benoit like a lawn dart......

......the only man left standing is a blood soaked Diamond Dallas Page....who comes through from the second ring to nail the Warrior with a running shoulder block, before backing him up into the corner with right hand after right hand that rocks the head of the Warrior back.....Bagwell charges Page from behind, but Dallas sidesteps it and Buff collides with the Warrior, staggering backward ps where DDP is waiting with his second Diamond Cutter of the evening......

.......our commentary team continue to praise the heart of Dallas Page, but Savage and the Warrior finally overwhelm the plucky Page, and begin to double stomp him on the mat.....fortunately he doesn't have to suffer for long......

VS.

......before Lex Luger comes bursting into the match, nailing first the bloody Levesque, then Savage, then the Warrior with a running forearm shot a piece.....before military pressing Bagwell and tossing him into the next ring.....Luger let's out a loud shout, before helping the bloodied Page to his feet, slapping him on the back and telling him he was right in his point earlier, as Team WCW unite to take the fight to the Titans......

......Benoit catches Savage with a snap suplex that is so close to the cage wall that the Macho Man crashes back first against the steel.....The Canadian Crippler then drags the Macho Man back to his feet, before grinding his face into the cage until the blood begins to flow.....Randy Savage has been busted open.......

VS.

......as the final Titan member enters the match....and it's a biggie.....the WCW Champion, Hollywood Hogan......he comes into the ring and goes straight for Benoit.....who immediately catches his arm and takes him down into the Crossface.....not the start Hogan envisioned.....

.....fortunately the Warrior breaks it up with a boot to the back of Benoit's head.....Hogan is free, and he's not happy.....taking off his weightlifting belt to whip across the back of Benoit, leaving angry looking welts, before wrapping the thick leather around his fist and nailing the Crippler with right after right after right, until Benoit too is wearing the proverbial crimson mask.....

......Levesque and Page have resumed their battle....with both men looking the worse for wear....no surprise considering they started this match, but after eating the Diamond Cutter earlier, it's Levesque who has the advantage currently.....

.....Luger is doing his best to fight off both Randy Savage and Buff Bagwell.....and currently failing....because Bagwell has his arms held behind him, leaving him wide open for a Macho Man double ax from the top.....

.....Benoit is currently laying in a pool of his own blood......

.....and Curt Hennig is getting double teamed by the pairing of Hollywood Hogan and the Warrior.......

VS.

The Match Beyond: Submit or Surrender

.....which is when the final buzzer goes off....and the final member of Team WCW comes in....and if our last entrant was a biggie, our final entrant is a huge-ie.....because the Giant is the final entrant.....that's five on five.....that's War Games....and now, it's the Match Beyond....where the only way to win, is submit.....or surrender......

.....he's an angry Giant too, and he hits the ring with one purpose.....win the match, won the title shot....and Hogan is his chosen target......

.....Bagwell charges the Giant but gets tossed to one side......Levesque charges at the Giant and eats a big boot.....Warrior and Savage charge the Giant (and actually knock him down to one knee) before the Giant bursts back to his feet, with one huge hand around the neck of Savage, and his other big paw around the neck of Warrior......and he drives BOTH men into the mat with a Double Chokeslam......

.....Hogan bails to the other ring, but this is War Games brother, there's no escape here....and the seven foot Giant follows him, stalking him like a grizzly bear.....Hogan tries to bolt again, but the Giant catches hold of him and presses him over head......so high over head that he actually pumps him arms up and down, driving the back of Hollywood into the steel roof of the cage, before tossing him halfway across the ring.....

......there's action going on all over the two rings now as these ten men go at it.....Levesque and Page are STILL locked in a bloody war.....Curt Hennig is going punch for punch with the Warrior.....Chris Benoit and Randy Savage are trying to remove each other's faces with the wall of the steel cage.....

......that leaves Buff Bagwell, who runs at The Giant......but Lex Luger is able to intercept him.....and he gets him up into the Torture Rack.....

......Hogan is still begging off from the Giant.....who drags the WCW Champion to his feet.....before noticing Buff looking like he's about to submit right next to him.....

.....nonchalantly the Giant grabs Bagwell foot and yanks him free, before turning back to Hogan and gathering him up in a huge bear hug.....the announcers can't believe what they are seeing, stating that WCW (and Lex Luger) had this one in the bag.....but the Giant is so focused on securing the victory himself, he's just cost his friend the victory......

.....Luger realises what's just happened.....and he's far from pleased......he shoves the Giant hard in the back (causing him to release his hold on Hogan) and spins him around by his arm demanding to know what his problem is......Giant looks like he's contemplating denying his actions, but instead he shoves Luger in the chest, telling him to back off, because he's got a title shot to win.....

......Lex shoves back.....hard.....not that he moves the big seven footer, but he's not about to back down either......Benoit and Hennig break off from their respective battles to try and defuse the situation (Dallas Page is barely in any condition to do anything other than bleed profusely) which is why they don't see Bagwell tearing up the canvas in the far corner of ring number one.......or the ring boards being removed.......OR the three men dressed in ring crew clothes climbing out of the hole and into the ring.........

.......although it soon becomes blatantly obvious that those aren't part of the official ring crew....it's Ray Traylor, Adam Copeland, and Christian Cage......

.......Schiavone is horrified at this, stating that they must have been hiding under there all match, masquerading as part of the ring crew while the cage was being secured......

.......the argument is still happening, but soon the four members of Team WCW are set upon by seven (because much like Page, Levesque is down and bloody) Titan members, with the Holy Trinity of Hogan, Savage and Warrior laying out The Giant, while the three fresh men and Bagwell work over Luger, Benoit and Hennig......

......Levesque stumbles over to the hole made in the mat and reaches under the ring, pulling out a large hold-all bag, opening it up and tossing the contents to his stablemates.....Handcuffs.....

......it takes some doing, but eventually Luger, Benoit, Hennig.....and even the Giant are secured to the steel cage by cuffs.....as a bloody Levesque drags an equally bloody Dallas Page to his feet.....the Titans surround the lone WCW member, taunting him....telling him that if he knows what's good for him, he'll submit right now......

......DDP's answer?.....he starts swinging like a madman.....clocking Levesque, Savage, Hogan and Bagwell before Traylor puts a stop to that with a well timed nightstick shot to the ribs.....

.....the announcers say that Page has put on a heroic performance here tonight, but even they say he may be wiser just to submit here......Levesque drags the bloody and battered Page to his feet once more, again locking in the abdominal stretch.......this time however he has Traylors nightstick in his free hand, and he nails Dallas in those injured ribs repeatedly.....but Page just won't quit......but as the blood drips from his face to the mat, he certainly screams......

.......which is when Kimberly comes running down the aisle.....with a white towel in her hands.....she told her husband to make sure that HE wasn't the one seriously hurt tonight, and as she gets the attention of the official, waving the towel frantically at him, it looks as though she's taking matters into her own hands......because she is officially surrendering the match, before Diamond Dallas Page can receive permanent injury......your winners......the Titans of Wrestling.

Winner(a): The Titans of Wrestling (via Surrender)
Rating: A

Quote:

The bell rings, but that doesn't stop the Titans......and while Levesque releases the abdominal stretch, he only releases it long enough to drive DDP's busted open skull into the mat with a Pedigree......

.....Hogan goes around the rest of Team WCW one by one, verbally running them down and telling them each that they will NEVER get a shot at his WCW Championship....before delivering a little bit of injury to that insult, as he runs over and drops the Legdrop of Doom on the motionless Diamond Dallas Page......before he and the rest of the Titans raise their arms in celebration....because TONIGHT at least.....they can say they won the battle.......

......but as the camera's catch sight of a lone figure, watching on from high up in the rafters of the arena......the War may have only just begun.

Rating: A*

Final Rating: B+

Two Hours Before Fall Brawl.....

”.......what do you mean Hogan won’t do it?......”

“......exactly what I fricking said bro, the big bald son of a bitch won’t do it.....”

“......I don’t see what the problem is, Bagwell is there to eat the loss, not him.....you renegotiated his contract right? Gave him a pay bump to take out that creative control clause? He can’t say no......just do the finish, give Page the win, and chuck him a chunk of that Turner Money you’re always bragging about to keep him happy......”

“.......it’s not just him though bro.....freaking Warrior won’t do it either.....and he DOES have creative control......he says he’s not losing to a no nothing scrub like Dallas Page.....MAYBE the Giant, but definitely not Page bro.....I should just put the Giant over right?.....”

“......no, because that’s not where you’re going with him.....”

“......it’s cool bro, I’ll give Giant the win, then just have him give the title shot to Page, no one cares about stipulations anyway, they’re all bullsh!t......”

“.......they’re only bullsh!t if you treat them like bullsh!t Vince.....and the Giant isn’t going to just GIVE the title shot away......”

“......sure he will, I’ll tell him to.....I’ll even write him a script if he wants.....”

“.....I don’t mean Paul Wight won’t do it Vince, I mean the character “The Giant” wouldn’t just give the title shot away......”

“.....bro, no one cares about sh!t like that.....”

“.....well I care.....do you want my advice or not? Because I’ve got my own Pay Per View to be booking if not......”

“......alright bro, keep your fricking panties on......”

“......here’s what you should do.....”

(OOC:) So yeah......Team WCW, or more specifically, Diamond Dallas Page was supposed to pick up the win tonight.....I had a feeling that wouldn’t happen, (Warrior vetoed it) which is why I was packing a contingency plan that will still get me where I was planning on going, even if it is by a different road.
