Default Football Manager Sim

I don't know if this has been brought up in the past but a football manager game in the same vein as the tew series would be mental. Bear with me.
I've been playing an old copy of Championship Manager 03/04 and thought how great it would be if you could build a database like the tew series where footballers generated as they have in real life. Obviously I'm aware that to do that globally would be a monumental task, but on a smaller level it may be possible for one or two leagues initially, then build from there.
The hubris of the folk at SI Games over people's complaints about the fm series is absurd and Miles Jacobson's retort of "Build your own game" has almost become a meme.
I think this game would fly off the shelves (figuratively speaking of course) and would get the modding community on board in a near instant as the kind of database I thought of while in the bath would be a wet dream to the type of folk who play it. Just an idea.
