Thanks, guys! I have a question, Rhyme. Were Albert & Perry Saturn a team I've long-since forgotten about IRL, or a positive chemistry find, or what?

I think I picked them by closing my eyes with both of them as a team. They are doing ok it seems.

PING!

Another email, this had better not be…

I knew it!

This was the second email in as many weeks I’d received from Lash Leroux, telling me how he’s achieved all he can in NWA: Wildside and is “ready to move to the main roster.” I spoke to Bill (DeMott, who I also sent to NWA: Wildside as a sort of player/coach deal) after the first email from Lash…

Bill disagrees.

However, I admire the kid’s drive, so I’m gonna give him a shot. Sure, he’ll mostly be eating losses, but he’s just going to get more and more agitated if I leave him unanswered, so it’s time for one of us to prove the other wrong…

In fact, the mood was so good that I tried my luck meddling in one of our more hostile relationships, between Arn Anderson and Kevin Nash, dating back to an angle that got a little out of hand years ago, where the nWo mocked Arn's retirement speech and hit a little close to home.

Unfortunately, my meddling actually made things worse between them! Next time, I'm sending Daivari in...

I know Jim Duggan kicking off the show has been working lately, but I had a major announcement to make!

EB: ”God damn, I love you guys! How great was The Big Bang just over a week ago?!”

The crowd roared its approval, although I’m pretty sure it was approval for the show, rather than me kicking off Nitro. Noted…

EB: I agree, I agree! In fact, I enjoyed The Big Bang so much, I’ve decided one special event a month isn’t enough! Now, I don’t want to try to rip anyone off, so we won’t be adding any more pay-per-view events to our calendar, however I have completed a deal to bring back an old favourite here in WCW… Clash Of The Champions!”

Again, a positive reaction from the crowd, and again, not for me.

EB: ”I know, I’m excited too! But this is the new WCW, so we’re going to put a new twist on this old classic! Clash Of The Champions will be a monthly event, and will feature only matches between existing champions in WCW! One month, the World Heavyweight Champion might face off with the Cruiserweight Champion, then the next, the Cruiserweight Champion might be against one half of the World Tag Team Champions! Every champion will be in action on every Clash Of The Champions going forward, and I know it’s going to be a lot of fun! Now, I’ve taken up quite enough of your time, so let’s get on with the show!”

This got the best reaction of the whole segment. Thanks, WCW faithful…

EB: ”Oh, and the next Clash Of The Champions will be twelve days from now, on the last Saturday of May! Enjoy the show!”

Jim Duggan vs Mike Awesome

After their falling out last week, Lance Storm requested this match between Mike Awesome and former Team Canada member, Jim Duggan, as an opportunity for Awesome to prove his worth to Storm. On top of that, Duggan beat Awesome two weeks earlier in the final of the WCW World Television Championship tournament, so Awesome had his own motivations to get even.

After about seven minutes, Storm jumped up on the apron and grabbed Duggan’s arms, shouting for Awesome to hit him. Somewhat reluctantly, Awesome ran in with a big right hand, Duggan ducked, Awesome knocked Storm off the apron, and Duggan hit the Running Clothesline Tackle for the one-two-three!

In a decent match, Jim Duggan defeated Mike Awesome in 7:31 by pinfall with a Running Clotheline Tackle following botched interference by Lance Storm.

Booker T appeared on the video screen to a great reaction from the crowd!

Booker T talked for a few minutes about his recovery from his injury, and his plans once he’s back (he wants both of his championships back). To my surprise, Booker struggled a little without a script to follow, but the fans were still into it, because Booker is super popular!

Next the camera cut to DDP, Kevin Nash, WCW World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage & Sting

DDP: ”Ah, that’s good to hear, Booker’s recovery is going well. You know, he’s my favourite Booker that we’ve ever had in WCW...”

KN: ”Hey!”

DDP: ”No offence, Kev! But, ya know… a stun gun?! Anyway, anyway… the four men you see in front of you right now, we’ve got ourselves a little match tonight, ain’t that right, Stinger?”

S: ”That’s right, Page! You see, the so-called Magnificent Seven seem to think they run the show around here of late, but I got news for ya! The four of us have eighteen World Heavyweight Championship reigns between us, nineteen if we count my reign as NWA Champ...”

DDP: ”Are we counting that?”

KN: ”Don’t forget when I was commissioner and gave myself the strap!”

DDP: ”We are not counting that!”

RS: ”You know, I won a couple of World Titles somewhere else, a while ago...”

DDP: ”We are DEFINITELY not counting that!”

RS: ”Fair enough! But it reminds me of something I said back in those days – the cream rises to the top, and Magnificent Seven, you’re looking at the cream of WCW, ooh yeah!”

S: ”Iiiiiiit’s show time, folks!”

WCW World Television Championship

Disco Inferno (C) vs Lash Leroux

Well, here it is: Lash Leroux’s re-debut after he asked me for a chance, and let me tell you, Disco and Leroux really surprised me with this one! They seemed to have great chemistry together, and this throwaway match to give Disco another TV Title defence ended up pretty good!

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Disco Inferno defeated Lash Leroux in 11:04 by pinfall with The Last Dance. Disco Inferno makes defence number 2 of his WCW World Television title.

Konnan psyches up Rey Misterio Jr.

Honestly, I put this segment in the show because of how good of a talker Konnan is, and I’ve not been making use of him. I’m pretty sure most fans know about his real-life friendship with Rey, and even if they don’t, they’ll hopefully remember their time together in the filthy animals. Anyway, Rey was up next against Kid Romeo, so Konnan was giving him a pep talk.

Kid Romeo vs Rey Misterio Jr.

I told these guys to go out there and steal the show, and so far so good! This was the best match of the night so far, even though Romeo looked a little gassed towards the end. Rey was definitely the better talent at this point, but Romeo got the win to advance the story we were telling in the Cruiserweight Tag division.

In a decent match, Kid Romeo defeated Rey Misterio Jr. in 15:42 by pinfall with a Last Kiss.

After the match, Kid Romeo was celebrating and Rey, being the class act that he always was, offered a handshake. Unfortunately for Rey, Romeo just laughed in his face and left the ring.

Next, we saw footage from a press conference held by Dustin Rhodes. Dustin accepted his father’s challenge from last week, explaining that he was sick of all of Dusty’s talk about the “American Dream,” when the American Dream is all about making money, which is Dustin’s new focus in WCW. Dustin went on to say that he was going to be Dusty’s “American Nightmare” at The Great American Bash.

Ernest Miller & M.I. Smooth vs Kanyon & Kwee Wee

Not a lot to report here, just a continuation of the Kanyon/Miller & Smooth feud, but with Kanyon’s new ally, Kwee Wee, involved. Obviously, Kwee Wee took the loss.

In a poor match, Ernest Miller and M.I. Smooth defeated Kanyon and Kwee Wee in 11:29 when Ernest Miller defeated Kwee Wee by pinfall with a Feliner.

Miss Jones took to the ring to celebrate Miller and Smooth’s victory, when suddenly, from her blindside…

Kanyon and Kwee Wee tackled Miss Jones to the ground, then humiliated her by stripping her down to her underwear!

Cameras picked up Billy Kidman and Rey Misterio Jr. arguing backstage. Kidman was questioning Misterio’s drive and determination, accusing him of being more interested in shaking everyone’s hand and making friends than winning matches, and Rey fired back by pointing out that Kidman lost focus in their Cruiserweight Tag Title defence, which led to the double count-out instead of a potential win. Eventually, both men calmed down and left the locker room together.

I did notice that Misterio improvised well, but Kidman struggled without a script, in fact I’d go so far as to say his part of the dialogue was a mess.

Buff Bagwell, Jeff Jarrett, Lex Luger & Road Warrior Animal vs DDP, Kevin Nash, Randy Savage & Sting

Wow, the fans really ate this up, and rightly so! On one side, four absolute legends of WCW, and on the other? Two wrestlers widely touted as the future of WCW, and two more legends of the wrestling business!

Once the match had been going about fourteen minutes, Bagwell rolled Sting up, putting his feet on the ropes in a repeat of the finish to their six-man tag at The Big Bang! Savage would’ve been able to break up the pin, except that Rick Steiner showed up and distracted him, leading him on a chase up the entrance ramp rather than saving the match for his team!

In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, The Magnificent Seven (Buff Bagwell, Jeff Jarrett, Lex Luger and Road Warrior Animal) defeated Randy Savage, Sting and The Insiders in 14:14 when Buff Bagwell defeated Sting by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage after Rick Steiner distracted Savage.

A cameraman followed Steiner and Savage backstage, but as Savage went through the curtain, he hit a wall of security guards, with Ric Flair standing behind them. Savage yelled at Flair that he wanted a piece of Rick Steiner, to which Flair obliged… at Clash Of The Champions in twelve days!

Having two people write a dynasty as competing sides in a war adds something really interesting here. I like it, and sm enjoying how this is progressing. Am also enjoying the music too!

Thanks! It's fun for me, too, because we don't discuss plans for our shows, so I don't know what's going to happen on Raw until it's posted here! It's like the real war in that aspect!

Thanks! And I don't think it's giving anything away to say I'm a sane human being who prefers Macho Man to Rick Steiner

I think Scott prefers Macho to Rick... nah, I jest. But he might be the only one.

I don't think Scott qualifies as sane, though!
