I was surprised to see Lover win against Riley.

Shaw needs a new picture.

Shaw does need a new picture, I just haven't found an unused render that I really want to use for him/will pair nicely with the Mennonite Mammoth.

Most people probably picked Riley to win, for obvious reasons, but there is something I want to build to with Champagne Lover that necessitates him getting a win here; combine that with the fact that I don't want to just bring in big name alliance talent to always lose -- because then it becomes predictable.

Might be the shades, but is he under some kind of cool gimmick? Are you trying to go "odd pairing" with him and Yoder? Trying to get a feel for his character so I can look up my library and hopefully chip in a potential portrait.

He has a cool based gimmick, but he and Yoder were paired up in RIPW when Yoder was there. So I repaired it.

Hmm, it still feels strange, because Jakob Yoder initially always seemed like he was going to be a big deal in RMW, but the 5 years in RIPW made him miss his window so to speak and now he’s relegated to tag team specialist duties as the new wave of RMW/CWL graduates and signings fill in the top of the card.

Also unrelated but would you mind including the GWC Title histories in the front page as well please? I think it’s perfinent to CWL.

Default SNSM Ep 132

Available on NCTV
Week 1, February 2024.
Filmed at: Ellison’s [Hawaii, USA]
In Attendance: 5,000 [SELL OUT]
Rating: 3.19 [2,397,930 viewers]
Commentators: Lee Bambino & Ricky Dale Johnson

LB: Hello and welcome to another exciting and thrill-packed episode of Saturday Night Slammasters. We are coming to you from the sold out Ellison’s in beautiful Hawaii with a view of the Pacific Ocean. We have a great night of professional wrestling action scheduled for you tonight. In our main event, “The Evolution” Primus Allen will once again go one on one with Cameron Vessey. This is a rematch of last week’s main event that saw Cameron Vessey steal a victory from Primus Allen. Can the former North American champion get revenge for his loss or will Cameron Vessey once again score a victory?

RDJ: Plus women’s division action as Laura Flame goes one on one with Brooke Tyler for the first time. Flame has found a partnership in recent weeks with Alina America -- and Brooke just won the North American Women’s Tag Team Championship with her partner Alicia Strong at the Eighth Anniversary. Flame and America could want to challenge for those belts and a win tonight would surely help their case.

LB: I bet it would, Ricky. Let’s not forget that Riley McManus will be defending his Television Championship tonight and so much more. I can’t wait, so let's get to ringside.

Quote:

Matty Faith is in the ring. He is upset over his loss to Ross Henry. He was close. So close. He keeps getting close. He was close to beating Torment and then lost. Close to beating Ross Henry and then lost. He lost to Spencer Spade when he was North American Champion. He keeps coming up short but he can’t come up short any longer.

Before he can continue, “Hollywood” Bret Starr comes out. The grandson of the legendary Mickey Starr dismisses Matty Faith as a pretender. He says he’s a man good in practice but not when the game is on the line. Starr is a big money, big match kind of guy. He needs a big match. He needs something to get his juices flowing because he doesn’t do practice. He doesn’t do small time.

Matty Faith challenges Starr to a match at The Last Hard Men at the end of the month. Starr agrees.

Opening Match
Six Man Tag
Fifteen Minute Time Limit

“The Juice” O.J. Morris, Dale Kingman, & “The Troubador” Floyd Reeves versus Shadaloo

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Jože Král and Shadaloo defeated O.J. Morris, Dale Kingman and Floyd Reeves in 12:44 when Jože Král defeated Floyd Reeves by pinfall with a Crunch Tackle.

In terms of in-ring work, Sgt. Bison was head and shoulders above everyone else. Jože Král was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.

Quote:

“The Headhunter” Jeffery Aroma comes storming to the ring. He’s pissed off. He came within two inches of Senior Official Darren Smith’s hand hitting the mat from defeating Spencer Spade and having run the table against Bowen Services. But Bowen had to prevent him from winning and he’s tired of it. He wants Spencer Spade one more time.

Spade comes out on to the entryway. Spade looks around. He has Bowen with him. He just tells Aroma no. He beat him already. He doesn’t need to give him another opportunity.

Singles Match
Fifteen Minute Time Limit

“The Dragon” Mikey James versus The Acolyte w/ Father Grim

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Mikey James defeated The Acolyte in 9:42 by pinfall with a Dragon Whip.

Quote:

Mikey James is on the second rope celebrating his victory over the Acolyte when Moloch rolls into the ring. The big man grabs James from the second rope and hits a big release German Suplex on him. The Acolyte gets to his feet and the two men put the boots to James until CWL personnel can pull them away.

Singles Match
Twenty Minute Time Limit

“Gorgeous” George Wolfe versus “The Cornerstone” Riley McManus ©

In a decent match, Riley McManus defeated George Wolfe in 13:51 by pinfall with a Slingshot Suplex. Riley McManus makes defence number 2 of his CWL Television title.

Tag Team Match
Fifteen Minute Time Limit

The Cummos versus The Devil’s Rejects w/ February Malaise

In a bout that had good wrestling but didn't have much heat, The Devils Rejects defeated The Cummos in 7:32 when Brett Dewes defeated Kurt Cummo by pinfall by using underhanded tactics.

Luis Cummo carried the match in terms of in-ring performance.

Singles Match
Fifteen Minute Time Limit

“Red Hot” Laura Flame versus “The Franchise” Brooke Tyler

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Laura Flame defeated Brooke Tyler in 7:47 by pinfall with a quick cradle.

Quote:

We are thrown backstage where “The Hillbilly Hammer” Clyde Puder is being interviewed. The near seven-foot-tall product of the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling stares directly into the camera. He’s speaking to us just as much as he is to Torment.

“Now I know I let a lot of people down a couple of years ago. Many people thought I’d lost my mind. That I wasn’t loyal or true to my word and maybe they were right. Maybe they were. But you know what they say about the grass being greener on the other side and I believed that. I saw big money contracts from the limitless pockets of a billionaire and I remembered all those years growing up on the pig farm where there was no money. I thought of all those years where I was poor and I got greedy for a minute. But I learned my lesson. I learned what I needed to learn. Father Grim is parading that big bastard Torment around. He’s holding hostage the North American Championship and he’s spitting rhetoric about how we don’t understand what it is to have broken promises. We don’t understand what it means to be promised the world and have it not come true. That’s all fine and good, ‘cause I ain’t promising nobody anything but this. At The Last Hard Men, I’m gonna put my hands on Torment. I’m gonna make sure he remembers that I’m six feet ten and I cover the ground I walk on. He’s a big bastard. He’s tough and he’s mean and he fights with a chip on his shoulder. He’s got something to prove. But baby, so do I. I’ve got something to prove and at The Last Hard Men, I’m going to prove it.”

A lot of good interviews and storylines on multiple fronts.

Will the frustrated Matty Faith turn Heel, yes if he’s smart. There’s money and fame to join Bowen Services or maybe he is just another of......the Fallen. Could that be his future

Why should a guy the level of the Supreme Superstar Spencer Spade give another opportunity to Jeffery. What’s in it for him? Nothing

And then there is Clyde, the people don’t believe in him. He was right to leave, grab the money. If these “fans” can’t see that maybe they need a lesson in respect.

Like I said there is a lot going on.

I'm enjoying this story of Matty Faith being this "almost" guy. Makes him sympathetic and it makes the chase more interesting. I'll admit I've had enough of him and Ranger as the Mission, so if/once he wins a singles title it'll be an interesting payoff.

Puder's promo reminded me of TLCJR's comment about Yoder and how he missed his chance by signing elsewhere. I like how you're going with that story and it's also some solid ground if you ever want to turn him heel: embrace the greed and go for corporate Yoder. Not that I'm asking for it, I don't know what his heel performance is like, whether it suits your plans or if you even want to do that to a prized product of your dojo/company, but judging from the Riley McManus heel turn, I trust you to make it exciting should you ever choose to go down that way.

Quote:

Henry and Law are in the ring after their victory. The two men each get a microphone. They announce that a big match has been signed for No Law or Order. Champagne Lover, who was successful against Riley McManus at The Eighth Anniversary has been granted a GWC World Heavyweight Championship opportunity in March, but at the end of this month, Champagne Lover will be bringing his friend Axxis Jr. north of the border to challenge Ross Henry and Rick Law in a tag team match!

Quote:

American Muscle are backstage. They have been granted another North American Tag Team Championship opportunity at No Law or Order and they can’t wait to take it. They almost beat the Rejects at the Eighth Anniversary for the belts, but the Rejects used some help from February Malaise to get the win. They won’t be so lucky at No Law or Order.

Pistol Pete Hall comes to the ring and calls out Spencer Spade and Lisa Bowen. He wanted to do this in front of the fans. He wanted Spade and Bowen to know that while Spencer could turn down a singles match against Aroma -- they can’t turn down what Pete has in mind. It will be a four on four Steel Cage Warfare match. Bowen Services against Team Aroma. Bowen Services will be represented by Spencer Spade, Cameron Vessey, Casey Valentine, and Franklin Rush while Team Aroma will be Jeffery Aroma, Jakob Yoder, Gabriel Shaw, and Primus Allen.

Spade and Bowen were furious at this, but Pete took it one step forward. If Team Aroma wins, at Wrestling Summit IX, Jeffery Aroma will get a one on one match with Spencer Spade -- and Bowen Services will be on the line!

Quote:

We are taken to a pretaped promo. The monster formally known as Killer Shark, now known as Torment, the North American Heavyweight Champion, is standing in the center of a room. Surrounding him are broken picture frames of all of the men who have fallen to his hands. He holds a photo of Clyde Puder. The sinister Father Grim is off to the side.

FG: So many have tried. So many have failed. So many believe that they are the chosen ones. The promised few. The ones who can stand up to the monster that I freed. Look at Torment. This is a free man. A man who is unshackled. When he was Killer Shark, he did not become what he has become. Since I uplifted him, he has risen to heights that were previously unattainable. Clyde. Allow me to do the same for you. Allow me to save you. Allow me to uplift you. You've already experienced what the promised land has to offer. The lies they tell. You bought those lies. You came back here a broken man and how did they treat you? Like you had foresaken them. I know the truth. You were lied to. Let me show you the way...Let me show you the way.

Not only do I think Team Aroma wins here to set up the big match, I think Bowen Services has run its course for now and the heels will be needed as solo acts with the recent depletion of top talent from the company.
