Torment's injury and a poor chemistry note tanked the main event, unfortunately.

Solid show all around despite the main event rating with the injury and chemistry issues. The DQ ending gave the baby face the win without the title change. I like that since it was Law’s first match. When does he get a rematch? Maybe he should have to jump through a couple of hoops (aka The other members of the Fallen).

Looking forward to the build to what should be a big Anniversary Show

Sucks.

But one of the joys of TEW honestly, two over workers you think you have a barn burner on your hands, and BOOM, terrible chemistry and match out of nowhere.

Now you need to re-write the whole feud to adapt to the situation lol.

Really enjoyed catching up on this, once again the narratives really stand out as brilliant. Can we get a post of you singing the entirety of 'Even the Devil gets the blues' please?

In all seriousness though it would be cool if the album caught off in the c-verse and CWL suddenly had a bona fide music star on the roster. Although I imagine he'd then chose music full time over wrestling.

You really don't want a post of me singing even a snippet of one of the songs from Even the Devil Gets The Blues -- it would break your computer speakers, your headphones, your eardrums, heck... My singing is so bad it might hurt your other senses.

In other news, the last show of the 2023 year is coming. It's been run and is just waiting for me to add pictures and format it, which I should be able to do tonight. This week had back-to-back curriculum nights at the school I work for and because of my role, meant I didn't leave the job until close to 8PM each night and by the time I get home and get some dinner I haven't had the energy or desire to do anything other than sit on the couch and watch some TV before passing out.

2023 Year End Awards
I'm incredibly pleased to bring you Wrestling News World's official 2023 Year End Awards for professional wrestling.  The entire WNW staff, as well as many retired wrestling luminaries and some non-WNW wrestling writers all voted on these awards.

Wrestler of the Year
El Leon -- the masked luchador nabbed his fourth Wrestler of the Year award this year.  At forty-one years old, one can only wonder how much longer the backbone of the SOTBPW roster can continue his impressive run.  He trails only former SOTBPW ace Champagne Lover on the most all-time Wrestler of the Year Awards.

Tag Team of the Year
Blood Raven & El Leon -- SOTBPW's tag team division was stacked this year and Blood Raven continued his streak of tag team dominance. This is the fourth time he has won this award and it is El Leon's first.  It is also the first time someone has won Wrestler of the Year and been apart of Tag Team of the Year.

Young Wrestler of the Year
Willie Frehely - This year, House of Stone graduate Willie Frehely takes the prize.  At twenty-two years old, he is a three year pro that has continued to show the Stone Familiy's dominance at preparing wrestlers for the pro ranks.  The House of Stone has produced five Young Wrestler of the Year award winners in the past six years.

Veteran Wrestler of the Year
Valiant - South of the Border Pro Wrestling takes home another awards, this time with forty-three year old Valiant.  The American-born wrestler has been a major hit since moving to Mexico and has proven that he can translate to audiences regardless of language.

Female Wrestler of the Year
Joanne Rodriguez -- For the second time in her career, former AAA and current USPW standout Joanne Rodriguez takes home the prize.  The forty-four year old grappler continues to have standout performances even in what is surely the twilight of her Hall of Fame career.

Independent Wrestler of the Year
Monty Trescarde - The former NYCW, SWF, and CWL standout has been tearing down the house in local companies all year.  At the end of the year, he found himself headed to Hawaii for L-Ring, but not after earning high praise that at thirty-eight years old, he might be the best he's ever been.

Company of the Year
South of the Border Pro Wrestling - Mexico's premiere wrestling company continues to be the gold standard for wrestling companies across the world.  For the seventh time, they have taken home this award.  They boast an unparalleled roster and continue to pump out the best shows month in and month out.

Most Improved Company of the Year
North of the Border Pro Wrestling -- The Canadian company started the year off Cult, rose to National, but did fall back to Cult for part of the year only to end the year incredibly strong.  The future is bright for Canada's oldest active promotion.

Match of the Year
Valliant def Pablo Rodriguez at LuchaMania 11 -- South of the Border Pro Wrestling's landmark LuchaMania event saw two veterans of the sport go toe to toe in one of the best matches of all time.  The American Valliant defeated Lucha-Libre legend Pablo Rodriguez in a match that will surely stand the test of time.

Show of the Year
SOTBPW's Festival de Homenjae -- SOTBPW's April Pay Per View Offering was clearly the big event of the year.  From the bottom of the card to the main event, the show delivered on every level.  Fifty thousand fans sold out the Estadio Universitario, Tuxla and another half a million people purchased the event on Pay Per View, making it one of the most watched events of the year.

Manager of the Year
Lugi Marin - OLLIE's premiere manager took home the prize this year.  Ths is the first time the fifty-year old manager has won the award.  He's done great work in OLLIE so far and looks to have a bright future ahead of him in Mexico's number two promotion.

Announcer of the Year
Lee Bambino -- The thirty-eight year old American spent the year as the voice of Continental Wrestling League, the United States number for promotion.  He had a great year at the broadcast booth, calling the best year of CWL action to date.

Color Commentator of the Year
Armando Cabailero - South of the Border Pro Wrestling's resident color man continues his run of dominance.  For the seventh time, he brought home the coveted award.  He is easily the best broadcaster in Mexico and is probably the best broadcaster in the world.

Referee of the Year
Shihei Nagano - PGHW's senior official and perhaps the best official of all time.  Nagano has won the award for the seventh time.  He has dominated this award since 2016, winning every year.

North of the Border Grows

North of the Border Pro Wrestling has officially been reclassified as a National promotion.  They were previously Cult -- though spent a good portion of 2023 at National.  They are led by their figurehead Jay Chord, who is supported by an ageing Duane Stone, Edd, David, Dan III, and John Stone that have all stepped in to help carry the family promotion.

Not sure why but now I’m picturing you singing “With My Baby Tonight” with Bruce Prichard

Welcome back to the start of school

Has your company momentum decreased in the past 6 months or so?

I’m noticing a lot of your guys are getting much worse grades for solo promos than in the past.

We lost a little bit of momentum from Christmas Chaos being so underwhelming. December, on the whole, wasn't a great month. We had a couple of lackluster SNSM's and the lackluster Christmas Chaos that we have to battle back from.
