JULY 2017, WEEK 4...

Show Rating: (84)

Pre-Show Match: The Mavericks defeated Erik Strong & Donte Dunn (71)

Announce Team:

Peter Michaels, Tom Townsend and 'RDJ' Ricky Dale Johnson

We kicked off this edition of Championship Wrestling with the last remaining active wrestler in the Stone Family: Edd Stone... 'The Animal' was asked last week what's next for him, following his battle with Sean McFly at Jeopardy... and tonight, he had an answer... He climbed into the ring looking angry, and he had some things to say about a certain announce team... He glared at Peter Michaels, Tom Townsend and Ricky Dale Johnson... He climbed out of the ring and got in Michaels' face...!!! Shouting at him for his words at Jeopardy about how McFly was the best wrestler in the world!! He shouted at all of them, but then he pushed Michaels over!! Ricky Dale Johnson didn't stand for this, and he removed his headset dramatically...

Edd Stone didn't wait for Ricky Dale Johnson to get ready, he grabbed the veteran Texan and dragged him over the announce desk by his shirt!! Tom Townsend continued to call the action as Michaels recovered from the shove... and what he called was RDJ fighting back!! He threw right hand after right hand but they seemed to have little effect... Edd Stone had the wherewithal to deliver a brutal low blow kick!! RDJ slowly dropped to his knees, in pure agony... Edd wasn't finished there though, and he began kicking at RDJ's mid-section... the commentator looked like a fallen warrior, felled in battle... He couldn't move... He couldn't defend himself... But he DID get some help...

Former friends... Former colleagues across the border in the USA... and former enemies too... But Aaron Andrews must not have liked what he was seeing, and he ran out to the ring to make the save... He slammed into Edd Stone, sending 'The Animal', who was another former colleague of Andrews and RDJ in the USA, into the corner of the ring!! Stone covered up his face and head, but Andrews delivered a flying knee to the mid-section!! He turned to check on RDJ, but Edd pounced from behind!! A fist fight ensued, before Stone dropped down and rolled out of the ring... Andrews was seething, but all he could do was put his arm around RDJ's shoulder while EMTs and referees headed to the ring...

'All Business' Harrison Hash [vs] 'The Iron Man' Tim Westybrook

After a tumultuous opening, we were reminded of last week, when Tim Westybrook was claiming to be able to beat anyone in the locker room. Harrison Hash stood up for everyone, and Westybrook left. But not before shoving Hash! The two veterans battled 1 on 1 tonight for the first time in almost 20 months! It was as open and even as they come, and either man could have won it. In the end though, Hash attempted two clotheslines, and as he hit the ropes for the third time, Westybrook hit his 'TNT Whirlwind' finisher!

Winner: 'The Iron Man' Tim Westybrook
Rating: 76
Finish: 'TNT Whirlwind' (Deep Six)

Next up, we were reminded that next week, we're going to have a 'Champion versus Champion'... 'Streak versus Streak' Match... as NOTBPW Television Champion James Hernandez will take on NOTBPW Canadian Champion Gargantuan for the first ever time... Both men are on incredible runs as of late, but only one can win next week... We'll hear from Gargantuan later tonight, but 'Mainstream' James Hernandez was here live next, talking about his chances with backstage interviewer Katie Cameron... Just then, in walked 'Mighty' Danny Cavanagh...

Danny Cavanagh: “Let's be honest about it Jim... You have NO chance next week against Gargantuan... The ONLY man with a chance to defeat 'The Monster' is me, and although I came up short last time, if I get another chance... it WON'T happen again...”
James Hernandez: “You seem to be doing that a lot lately kid... 'coming up short'... Makes me think of Jeopardy when I BEAT YOU, and you came up short again... How about this... I think... That I have EVERY chance of beating Gargantuan... But I'm willing to put my match with him 'on the line' tonight... If you beat me... YOU can fight 'The Monster' next week... Since you're so desperate...”

Danny Cavanagh accepted the challenge, and rubbed his hands together... He's made it his mission to be the first man to defeat Gargantuan 1 on 1... He came close twice back in May of this year, but his aim was to learn a lot, and come back stronger and quicker... Tonight, he has a chance to EARN another match with Gargantuan... But he's going to have to go through the in-form James Hernandez... A man he lost to two weeks ago at Jeopardy...

'The Ice Man' Derek Frost [vs] POISON

POISON made his triumphant return to action last week, winning his first match in over a year. He then went on to attack 'Awesome' Wade Orson, leaving the Brit down and out backstage. Orson isn't here tonight, but POISON had another challenge ahead of him. Derek Frost has had a rough few weeks, and he looked like he'd carried the weight of those few weeks with him into this match. POISON won it comfortably in the end, locking 'The Ice Man' in his 'Antidote Web' finisher!

Winner: POISON
Rating: 62
Finish: 'Antidote Web' (Tazmission)

Aldous Blackfriar and Mutant hit the ring right after the bell was rung, and they went after Derek Frost again!! POISON left them to it, and the 2 on 1 attack didn't last long... The charismatic Blackfriar let Mutant do most of the heavy lifting, as he went for a microphone... Aldous spoke about how he and Mutant have a 'GOOD REPUTATION', and deserve opportunities... He didn't understand how a tag team like Derek Frost and Dan DaLay... Known as BAD Reputation... Got a NOTBPW Tag Team Title shot at Jeopardy two weeks ago... A Title shot that DaLay didn't even show up to due to injury...

Aldous Blackfriar: “And then how did a team with NO Reputation (Robin DaLay and Logan) replace them in the match...?! It makes NO sense at all... So we're going to keep attacking Frost... We'll attack DaLay when he gets back here... Because WE want a shot... WE want an opportunity... and WE want the NOTBPW Tag Team Titles!!”

w/
'The Man Without Fear' Sonny Wildside [vs] 'Shooter' Sean Deeley w/ Ernest Youngman & The Ring Generals

This match was a tale of two halves. For the first half, Sonny Wildside was in complete control, and he was even able to take down Ernest Youngman and Dean Waldorf. He didn't do enough damage to Marv Statler though, and it was his distraction that allowed Sean Deeley to take over for the second half of the match. 'The Shooter' was then able to lock Wildside in his 'Front Choke Lock' and the youngster tapped out!

Winner: 'Shooter' Sean Deeley w/ Ernest Youngman & The Ring Generals
Rating: 83
Finish: 'Front Choke Lock'

As is often the modus operandi of 'The Shooters', Sean Deeley ordered his troops to circle the ring and get a man on each side... He shouted at them that it was time to make an example of Sonny Wildside, and force the 'Man Without Fear' to finally fear someone... But Wildside has made some valuable friends during his tenure on the main roster... None more so than Solomon Gold and The Natural – The American Blondes!! But they weren't the only ones to run out to make the save... They were joined by an unlikely ally!!

The Natural's former rival Thrill Seeker joined the veteran and his young tag team partner as they ran out, and ran 'The Shooters' off... The Natural grabbed a microphone, and told Sean Deeley and co that it's time someone put them in their place... So next week... in a 4 on 4 match, it'll be The Natural, Solomon Gold, Sonny Wildside AND Thrill Seeker... against Sean Deeley, Ernest Youngman, Dean Waldorf and Marv Statler!! Should be an epic encounter in one week... But The Shooters surely have the advantage due to their experience as a group...

Ricky Dale Johnson returned to the announce desk next... making his entrance to his music, and to huge cheers from the fans... He was slow on his walk to the ring, and still feeling the effects of the attack from Edd Stone earlier in the show... Tom Townsend and Peter Michaels asked RDJ what happened earlier... and what he thought Edd Stone's problem with him was... RDJ had no idea... and the show looked like it was going to continue... But out of nowhere, Edd arrived from behind the announced desk, and he slapped Johnson around the back of the head!!

Edd Stone's arrival sparked pure anger from Ricky Dale Johnson, and he wanted to rip Stone's hair out!! But 'The Animal' sloped away, and before RDJ knew it, Stone was 10 rows back into the crowd!! Peter Michaels and Tom Townsend tried to calm RDJ down but he was having none of it... He stormed up the ramp shouting that he was going to see Alex DeColt right now!! Michaels and Townsend theorised that RDJ would be asking Alex for a match with Stone... But will Alex allow the veteran to lace up his boots one more time...?!

'The Anvil' Mark Griffin [vs] 'Gentleman' Lord James King

It's been a tough few months for Lord James King, so he needed a win here tonight. He's tried to make life difficult for Wade Orson, but the Brit has overcome everything 'The Gentleman' has thrown at him. King was in there tonight against a match skill-wise in Mark Griffin. King has a lot more charisma though, and he used his experience edge to his advantage. He knocked Griffin out with his 'Power of the Punch' finisher, using his patented Brass Knuckles behind the referee's back!

Winner: 'Gentleman' Lord James King
Rating: 65
Finish: 'Power of the Punch'

Next up we took a look at the promo we've been seeing for weeks about a debuting Mexican Tag Team coming soon to NOTBPW... The video was mostly the same... talking about how much pedigree they have as a tag team... and how much experience... However, this video package had a huge difference to it... Because at the end of this video package, we learnt the identity of the two Mexican Megastars...!!

Luis Montero Jr. and Gino Montero will be arriving North of the Border in Canada for the first time ever, and with the blessing of their father Luis Montero Sr., they have each signed written deals for one year!! They will debut next week, before going on to Summer Smash to fight Cameron Vessey and Christian Price for the NOTBPW Tag Team Titles... And speaking of the Champions: Now known as 'Primed For Progress', they were stood backstage watching the video package, when Katie Cameron walked in to interview them...

Katie Cameron asked her interviewees if they were worried by the fact that they now know that they will fight the experienced Montero Brothers at Summer Smash... Cameron Vessey and Christian Price reacted negatively, and Vessey said that someone with a name like 'Cameron' should be a lot smarter than Katie just was... Because 'Primed For Progress' have NOTHING to worry about whatsoever... Because they are the NOTBPW Tag Team Champions... they've been teaming up for over a year... and the two Mexican 'Hooligans' have only just showed up here...

Cameron Vessey: “All those two Mexicans have is their looks... They're gorgeous... There's no denying it... But we have 'The Stud' Christian Price... We have all the good looks we need too... So it comes down to in-ring talent... Their father is some washed up, little Mexican fella... and he trained them how to do it... and MY father, is the legendary Larry Vessey... and I was trained by my Uncle... Also a legend... Bryan Vessey!!”

'Mainstream' James Hernandez [vs] 'Mighty' Danny Cavanagh

If Danny Cavanagh could somehow pick up a win here, he'll get what he wants the most in this life, and replace James Hernandez in next weeks match against 'The Monster' Gargantuan. But Hernandez wants an opportunity to test his skills in there against Gargantuan too. 'Mainstream' feels that his 'streak' gives him an advantage that Gargantuan's previous countless opponents haven't had: confidence! He used that confidence to dance around Cavanagh, and not let the big man get hold of him for long. In the end, Hernandez hit his 'Apparition #14' finisher and he put big Cav away comfortably!

Winner: 'Mainstream' James Hernandez
Rating: 80
Finish: 'Apparition #14' Spear

'The Monster' Gargantuan was shown watching the action backstage, and he actually SPOKE about what he was seeing... to no one in particular... He said that 'Mighty' Danny Cavanagh is obsessed with fighting him... all he has to do is ask... He then said he can't wait to battle 'Mainstream' James Hernandez next week... and then to go to TOTAL WAR with 'The Outsider' Steve DeColt... The huge behemoth licked his lips, and rubbed his hands together... and then settled in to watch Steve DeColt compete in tonight's Main Event...

Before the Main Event though, we got NOTBPW General Manager Alex DeColt backstage... 'The Mind' told the fans that he went back and watched Robin DaLay and Logan team up at Jeopardy... as they replaced Derek Frost and the injured Dan DaLay in the NOTBPW Tag Team Title Match due to Dan DaLay's injury... Alex then addressed the man himself... The man he believes is behind all of this... 'The Iron Fist' Dan DaLay!! Telling DaLay that putting Robin and Logan together was a 'very clever trick'... No one could work out what that meant, but Alex elaborated a little...

Alex DeColt: “I see what you're trying to do DaLay... You're trying to get in my head... But it won't work, man!! So how about next week... You show up on NOTBPW Championship Wrestling... and we have a little conversation about it all...?! Bring Robin (DaLay)... Bring Derek (Frost)... Bring Logan...”

At that moment, in walked 'The Wild Man' Jack DeColt... and he had some questions of his own... He asked Alex DeColt what the hell was going on... He said he thought no one would ever find out the truth... But Alex told him to stop talking right now, because there are cameras everywhere!! Eyes... ears... and constantly people talking... Alex said that they should meet tonight... in private... and discuss things together... Jack didn't know what to make of it all, but it seems he knows the 'secret' that Dan DaLay has been promising to reveal... But what could it be...?!

'The Outsider' Steve DeColt [vs] 'The Man Beast' Akima Brave

As mystery opponents, this one was a bit of a disappointment, but Akima Brave gave a good showing of himself when it was all said and done. The big Samoan went after Steve DeColt early on, and took him by surprise. But 'The Outsider' isn't a former 7-time World Champion for no reason. He soon came back into it and found himself in control of the contest. Akima Brave didn't have an answer for any of DeColt's strong offence. He walked onto a DDT, and was then hit with a brutal lariat. To win the match though, it took Steve DeColt's 'DeColt Stampede' finisher and a strong cover!!

Winner: 'The Outsider' Steve DeColt
Rating: 82
Finish: 'DeColt Stampede' (Big Boot)

Steve DeColt celebrated his victory, but he grabbed a microphone after a few moments of smiles and cheers... He told the NOTBPW fans that tonight's 'Mystery Opponent' (Akima Brave) was a tough challenge... But that he's been told that next week, things will go up a level or two... In one week, in the Main Event, 'The Outsider' Steve DeColt will take on a new arrival to NOTBPW... A new signing making his debut, on the same night that The Montero Brothers will arrive with the company... Is this a clue as to who the new Main Event level signing is...?! Maybe... But we'll find out who Steve DeColt will fight in one week...

Tim Westybrook [def.] Harrison Hash
POISON [def.] Derek Frost
Sean Deeley [def.] Sonny Wildside
Lord James King [def.] Mark Griffin
James Hernandez [def.] Danny Cavanagh
Steve DeColt [def.] Akima Brave

Bonus:
Who will be Steve DeColt's Mystery Opponent?! (current roster member) Akima Brave

USPW's roster continues to grow, as they've completed the signing of Danny Fonzarelli... He'll be pushed as an Upper Mid Carder, and will compete under the name: 'Jay Darkness'...!!!

American WLW performer: The Tic suffered a broken neck this week... Tic will be out for over 12 months with the injury...
