NOVEMBER 2017, WEEK 3…
Show Rating: (94) (Best Event since game began)
Buy Rate: (0.44)
Attendance: (24,726)

Announce Team:

Peter Michaels, Tom Townsend and 'The Saviour of Wrestling' Jonathan Faust

A brilliant way to kick off Nirvana In November, as Ricky DeColt took on his Brother Steve DeColt's big rival POISON. POISON is a veteran of the squared circle and has a 7 year experience advantage over Ricky. He also wore some strange face paint, attempting to get into Ricky's head! However, Ricky had Steve DeColt in his corner, and at times 'The Outsider' paid dividends. At one point though, POISON was on the outside of the ring, and Steve came round to meet him. The referee told Steve to back off, and with the legend distracted, POISON pulled out some green dust from a small bag in his pocket. As Steve turned to face POISON again, he blew the dust into Steve's face, temporarily blinding and disorientating the former 7 time World Champion. However, the dust in Steve's face didn't affect Ricky DeColt at all. Pretty soon, POISON was walking onto a 'DeColt .45' Super Kick, and then he had his shoulders pinned to the floor!

Winner: 'The Young Gun' Ricky DeColt w/ Steve DeColt
Rating: 83
Finish: 'DeColt .45' Super Kick

After the match, Steve and Ricky DeColt celebrated with their fans, and began to head out of the ring... They hadn't noticed that POISON had slid out of the ring to grab a steel chair!! As Steve turned around, he was able to put himself between Ricky and POISON, but POISON somehow CONTROLLED Steve!! POISON waved Steve away, and he stepped aside... He was almost in some kind of trance as he looked out to the crowd... All he could hear was the crack, as POISON unleashed a chair shot to the back of his Brother Ricky!! The crack seemed to snap Steve out of his trance, and he chased POISON off, and then tended to his brother Ricky... But POISON still wasn't done there... He pulled out a large piece of paper, and unfolded it to reveal another letter... The letter 'I'... adding to the 'J' and 'M' he had already revealed to Steve!!

The second of three matches that will feature DeColts, as Logan and Jack represented the biggest family in NOTBPW here. However, standing in their way were an emerging family, The Montero Brothers. Gino and Luis Jr. are two extremely talented performers, and they saw this match as a huge opportunity. They decided to isolate and try to dominate the less experienced Logan DeColt, and keep him away from his Uncle Jack DeColt. Of course, Logan has a lot on his mind right now, with his other Uncle Dan DaLay taking on his Father Alex DeColt later tonight, with the rights to HIS surname on the line! In this match, Logan cheated, there's no getting around it. The referee was distracted, and Logan deliberately delivered a thumb to the eye of Gino Montero! Gino was blinded, and Jack then came in off the tag. It was now time for 'The Wild Man' to dominate proceedings, and he threw both Mexican stars around the ring. The strong 266lber didn't mess about. He went straight for the kill. He hit some powerful slams, and then finally put Gino away with his 'End Of Days' finisher!

Winners: Logan DeColt & Jack DeColt
Rating: 80
Finish: 'End Of Days' (Baron Corbin's finisher)

After the match, Jack DeColt left the ring, but Logan DeColt wanted to stay behind and mock Los Monteros...!! But Gino Montero and Luis Montero Jr. took exception to Logan's arrogance... They decided to take Logan down and start stomping away at him!! The only thing that saved Logan was that he was close to the ropes, and Jack DeColt was able to grab his Nephew's arm and drag him out under the bottom rope!! Jack basically carried Logan to the back, and the two DeColts were booed out of the building...

In the back, we found 'The DaLays'... Dan DaLay, his best friend Derek Frost, his son Robin DaLay, and his sister Romy DaLay all watching Romy's son Logan DeColt act like a complete jerk... and then getting his comeuppance... Romy told the rest of the DaLay Family that she was disappointed with Logan... and that Dan MUST win tonight against Alex DeColt... She called Alex a 'virus', who is turning her son into a DeColt more and more each day... Something she wanted to avoid for all these years... Dan told her it wouldn't be easy, but that he would win tonight, and bring Logan BACK to the family...

Another excellent match here and a first time ever meeting between the young NOTBPW Television Champion: Sonny Wildside, and 'The Living Legend' Bryan Vessey. Wildside and Vessey couldn't be much different in the ring, and it showed throughout this one. Wildside showed 'No Fear', as he always does, despite facing a former World Champion, and a well-decorated veteran in Bryan Vessey. Wildside was able to deliver some brilliant flying kicks, and used the ropes to springboard from a number of times. But Vessey is known for his striking ability too, using forearms and knees effectively. Sonny finished this match with a badly bruised cheek after a knee strike from Vessey, so it's fair to say he earned his victory tonight. As he often does, he put his opponent away with his awe inspiring 'Fear Factor' Moonsault Stomp!

Winner: and STILL NOTBPW Television Champion: 'No Fear' Sonny Wildside
Rating: 84
Finish: 'Fear Factor' (Moonsault Stomp)

Backstage, 'Awesome' Wade Orson was heading to the men's locker room... There were a few other wrestlers in there, like Mark Griffin and The Ring Generals... Orson went to his bag, and then started pulling things out of it... EVERYTHING in his bag was covered in white pain!! An empty paint pot was nearby, and the contents had been poured out into his bag!! Orson was obviously furious, as Dean Waldorf, Marv Statler and Mark Griffin all confessed to not seeing who did it... But Orson said he knew EXACTLY who did this... and then set off out of the room to try to find the culprits... No prizes for guessing who he thought was responsible... Last week, after they were rude to him, Orson threw Cameron Vessey and Christian Price's bags in the trash!! This was clearly their version of revenge!!

This was Alex DeColt's second ever NOTBPW match. His first, was 11 months ago at Winter War in a 4 on 4 Stones versus DeColts battle. Tonight, he fought his oldest rival, and his oldest 'friend' Dan DaLay 1 on 1! The winner of this match would be able to name Logan either a DaLay or a DeColt. However, this was NOT a wrestling match. This was a fist fight! There were hardly any wrestling moves delivered, as both men preferred to just let fly with punches! At one point, big Dan DaLay had Alex down on the floor, and he was in the full mount position. He glanced over at his Nephew Logan and nodded at him, but Logan didn't want him to hit Alex. In fact, he began to CRY!! The 'crocodile tears' were enough to fool Dan DaLay, and Alex then regained control. For the finish, Alex hit a drop-toe-hold to the onrushing DaLay. 'The Iron Fist' hit his face on the bottom turnbuckle, and as he got up and turned around, Alex hit his 'DeColt Driver' to score the win!

Winner: 'The Mind' Alex DeColt w/ Logan DeColt
Rating: 79
Finish: 'DeColt Driver' (Brainbuster)

Just like earlier tonight against Los Monteros, Logan DeColt's actions caused Dan DaLay to lose here... Then it was an illegal thumb to the eye... in this match it was the 'crocodile tears' that his Uncle Dan DaLay bought as real... Earlier, Logan mocked Los Monteros for their loss, and he was attacked by the two Mexicans and then saved by his other Uncle Jack DeColt... After this match though, he seemed to have learnt his lesson, because he left the ring and didn't look back as he and his Father Alex celebrated... Logan is now officially a DeColt and he looked very, very, pleased about this...

In the back, 'Awesome' Wade Orson was going door to door, hunting for who he thought were responsible for his kit bag being filled with white paint... Orson had paint all over his hands as he burst through door after door, demanding anyone he saw to tell him where Cameron Vessey and Christian Price were... Nobody had seen the NOTBPW Tag Team Champions, but a backstage employee pointed out that they would be in the ring in a minute, because their 4 on 4 Match is up next!! Orson nodded, and said he knew what he was going to do...

A fascination match here, and a fast-paced one too. Edd Stone controlled everything his team did, and ordered his troops around well. Tim Westybrook did a lot of the heavy lifting, and hit some strong power moves. But it was Cameron Vessey and Christian Price who bossed it. They isolated Ernest Youngman, as Edd wanted to teach the youngster a lesson for beating him on Championship Wrestling two weeks ago. Once Youngman was able to crawl across to tag Dean Waldorf in though, things changed completely. Marv Statler made an impact too, and then Trent Shaffer was left to go toe-to-toe with Edd Stone. In the end, Vessey and Price were able to illegally double-team Shaffer behind the referee's back, and then knock The Ring Generals off the apron. Stone then hit his 'Party's Over' Elbow Drop off the top rope, and onto Trent Shaffer to score the win!

Winners: Edd Stone, Tim Westybrook & Primed For Progress
Rating: 78
Finish: 'Party's Over' Elbow Drop

Right after the match, tired of being pushed around by Primed For Progress, 'Awesome' Wade Orson headed onto the stage with a couple of duffel bags... Cameron Vessey and Christian Price instantly recognised the bags, and shouted warnings to Orson... But the Brit was apologetic, and told the Tag Team Champions that their rivalry has to end... it only began because of him, and he's sorry... A few weeks ago, Primed For Progress asked him to carry their bags... and he took them, and threw them into the trash!! Then tonight, P4P tipped white paint IN his bag, ruining all of his belongings...

Wade Orson: “Guys... I have your bags here, and the truth is, I'm sorry... I'm sorry for throwing your bags in the trash... I'm sorry I didn't do... THIS!!”

Wade Orson pulled out a box of matches!! He lit one, and dropped it in the first bag...!! He then lit a second one, and dropped it in the second bag!! Both bags went straight up, as if they'd been doused in petroleum first!! Primed For Progress hopped out of the ring, and sprinted up the ramp, but Orson was long gone by the time they got there!! Referees and Officials ran to the scene with fire extinguishers, and made sure the blazes were out quickly!! Edd Stone and Tim Westybrook joined Primed For Progress on the stage, and the four of them began to make a plan to make Orson pay for this!!

Backstage, Donte Dunn and Erik Strong, who have been teaming up full time since March of this year, were talking about Dunn's recent successes in both tag team, and singles matches... Dunn won a few in a row, but this past week on Championship Wrestling the two of them lost to Cameron Vessey and Christian Price in a very good performance... Strong was perhaps to blame for the loss, but he was happy to move on with things... He said that Dunn's undefeated 'Streak' is over, and now he just wants to go back to tagging up more often... Dunn shouldn't go solo again... 'The Barbadian Barbarian' couldn't believe what he was hearing, and he walked off... Still gutted to lose the match this week...

Angry Gilmore and Danny Cavanagh's rivalry is based on both of them wanting to be the NOTBPW Canadian Champion! In truth, Cavanagh wants to be the man to beat Gargantuan, and couldn't handle the fact that Gilmore probably had the best chance of anyone to become the one! Cavanagh interfered in two of Gilmore's Title opportunities, including one inside a steel cage. Gilmore of course lost both of those matches, but he has perhaps come the closest to stopping Gargantuan since 'The Monster' arrived in NOTBPW. Without intervention from Cavanagh, Gilmore could be Canadian Champion now, especially when Cavanagh handcuffed Gilmore to the bottom ropes at Anarchy! There's only room for one of them in NOTBPW, and that's why this match has been made. The loser will leave the company, effective immediately. Gilmore didn't waste any time in this one. It was an amazing match in truth, but it was fairly short by co-Main Event standards, at just over 15 minutes. Cavanagh hit a suplex where Gilmore's legs clattered off the bottom rope, and then a sidewalk slam. However, as he went for his sit-out spinebuster finisher, Gilmore pulled Cavanagh down to the floor, and locked the big man in his 'Anger Management' Arm Bar!! 'Mighty' Cavanagh scratched and clawed to get to the ropes, but Gilmore rolled him over, and eventually he tapped out!!

Winner: Angry Gilmore
Rating: 94
Finish: 'Anger Management' Arm Bar

So Danny Cavanagh is GONE from NOTBPW... He'll be fired after losing the 'Loser Leaves Town' Match to Angry Gilmore... We cut to the parking lot next, where NOTBPW Television Champion Sonny Wildside was loading his bags into his rental car... Suddenly, Wildside found himself surrounded by men with masks covering their faces; The Coast To Coast Connection were HERE!! Lead by the big man in the middle the other two knocked Wildside over, despite the fan favourite showing 'No Fear' as always... He tried to fight back, but he stood no chance really... Luckily for Wildside, some friends were nearby!!

The American Blondes: The Natural and Solomon Gold burst through a nearby door, and ran over to make the save... The fought with the three big newcomers, and eventually managed to pull one of their masks off!! They revealed the identity of the 'leader' of the group... The guy who does all of the talking, and seems to lead the other two and boss them around... and that man's name, is Sayeed Ali!! The New Yorker is a dangerous man, and will be a force to be reckoned with in NOTBPW!! Especially with the other two men willing and helping to do his bidding...

Another amazing match, which stole the show in the end! Aaron Andrews and Gargantuan couldn't be more different in terms of their in-ring style, and of course, their size. But an early clash of heads changed what this match was going to be, for the better! Gargantuan has a huge head, and probably didn't feel the impact as badly as Andrews did, but both men were dazed and slowed down by the collision! The fight soon went to the outside of the ring, and a couple of times, Aaron Andrews was nearly counted out, only just making it in at the count of 8 or 9. It almost seemed like a tactic for Gargantuan at times, and the announce team suggested that the big man wanted time to recover from the head on head impact. Unfortunately for Gargantuan though, the time on the outside allowed Andrews to recover too, and the fourth time he came back in at 7, 'The Ace' noticing that 'The Monster' was struggling, he went right after the NOTBPW Canadian Champion! Andrews began targeting the huge cranium of Gargantuan, sensing a weakness, and he was right. Gargantuan didn't know how to handle the attacks, and he fell back onto his backside! Andrews began pummelling Gargantuan, but once again, 'The Monster' used his power to throw Andrews off of him, and the force of the throw sent Andrews through the ropes again! As Andrews headed back into the ring this time, Gargantuan was ready, and he hit his 'Ultimate Backbreaker' (Military Press Drop onto Knee)!! This time, Gargantuan kicked Andrews until he rolled out of the ring and hit the floor. The referee counted slowly to 10, and Andrews had no chance of getting back into the ring.

Winner: and STILL NOTBPW Canadian Champion: 'The Monster' Gargantuan
Rating: 94
Finish: 'Count Out'

After the match was over, 'Mainstream' James Hernandez, who didn't have a match on the card tonight, strolled to the ring, and arrogantly climbed in to join Gargantuan between the ropes... Hernandez applauded Aaron Andrews for his performance, and said that 'The Ace' came closer to just about anyone to beating Gargantuan tonight... But... In Hernandez's opinion, Hernandez DID come closest to beating Gargantuan, when they had a Champion versus Champion Match, on NOTBPW Championship Wrestling... Hernandez was the NOTBPW Television Champion at the time, but he has since lost the Title... Gargantuan is STILL NOTBPW Canadian Champion, and is STILL undefeated... But in that match, the result was a draw!!

James Hernandez: “I'll tell you what 'Monster'... We've fought before, and you nearly lost... and I've just watched you come close to losing again... So how about me and you... Go 1 on 1... Right... Now!!”

James Hernandez's comments brought Angry Gilmore to the ring...!! The charismatic veteran got a huge ovation, while Hernandez was booed for his actions: He held the ropes open for Gilmore, but then let them go as Gilmore began to climb through them... Gilmore chased Hernandez out of the ring, and then asked for a microphone... Gilmore echoed the sentiment of Hernandez: Aaron Andrews should be applauded for his efforts tonight, and he truly did come close to upsetting 'The Monster'... But Gilmore did say that if anyone deserves to be Gargantuan's next opponent, it's HIM!!

Angry Gilmore: “I didn't beat Danny Cavanagh tonight, and cause him to lose his job, so that you could just waltz on out here, and ask for a Title shot...!! Because you DREW with Gargantuan once... You didn't even have a match tonight... So how about you fight ME right now... and then the winner can have a chance...?!”

The two arguing competitors didn't notice, but 'The Monster' Gargantuan had already gabbed his NOTBPW Canadian Championship Belt, and left... He was on the stage already, holding his Belt above his head, and then he waved James Hernandez and Angry Gilmore off as if he didn't want to hear what they had to say... 'Mainstream' James Hernandez blamed Gilmore for Gargantuan leaving and the two continued to stare each other down as the show went off the air...

Well, it was news to me, but Mid Atlantic Wrestling closed its doors this week... Effective immediately, the company will cease to exist after announcing bankruptcy... This is the second time a high-level promotion has closed in the game... The first time was 21CW, when NOTBPW bought them out... Apparently, MAW have been bleeding money at a rapid rate for several months, and the level of debt reached an unrecoverable level! We wish all MAW employees well as we head into Christmas!
